Over the winter I am going to work really hard in developing my new 2008 Yamaha R6(lucky for me alot of parts transfer over from my 07'). Also I plan on working out alot to get in better shape for next season so that I can go after a few class championships. My training will include but not limited to cycling every night, and the P90X work out.

I will be attending the Jason Pridmore's Star School both in Pahrump Febuary 15th and in Toole, Utah at Miller Motorsports Park at the end of April Just after the season starts.

For the 2009 Season I will be attending all Seven(7) of the Masters of the Mountains Race weekends here in Utah where I plan on racing in the Middle Weight Superbike, Middle Weight Superstock, Heavy Weight Superstock King of the Mountain GTO(1000cc)

Bio

A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND HOW I GOT STARTED:

My name is John Filippi; I am 25 years old, 6’ 1” 150 lbs. I used to race motocross in 2000 and 2001, until I wrecked really bad in October 2001 breaking my right foot, and my left hip. Almost four years of healing and trying to get back into racing in April 2005 I was at the sand dunes here in Utah when I landed too hard off a Jump and broke my left wrist. That same month I got a job that was about 45 miles away so for good gas mileage I bought a new 2005 Yamaha YZF-R6 to get to work. I instantly fell in love with the bike and rode each and everyday. After a few months of riding I started getting much better at doing stunts and handling the bike thru canyons. After I put about 17,000 miles on my R6, I decided to take it on the new Miller Motorsports Park race track. I had my first track day on September 4, 2006, at which time I toke the New Racer Certification class and became a licensed racer. On October 8, 2006 I raced the last MPRA Novice race and improved over 30 seconds that weekend. A friend from the track “Shorty” talked me into jumping up into Amateur so I could race the last Master of the Mountains with them. On October 21, 2006 I race in the final round of the Masters of the Mountains race. I raced in the Amateur GTU, Endurance, and the Fun runs. I was having problems with my brakes during the qualifying and Amateur GTU so my times were not as I would have liked. That night I got the brakes fixed and the next day I raced the fun runs and in the Endurance. I dropped some more time with the fun runs, but my best race was in the Endurance race were I finished 9th out of 25 racers and ran my best lap time of the weekend.
