What inspires you to compete?
Cross country skiing is one of the hardest sports in the world and I love seeing how far I can take it. A U.S. woman has never won and Olympic medal and if there is one thing I like more than skiing it is a good challenge...
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I train twice a day 6 days a week about 650 hours year. I do mostly cardio such as running, rollerskiing, and biking (skiing in the winter). I also hit the gym twice a week for strength and the occasional yoga session (for flexibility).
I also have a part time job lifegaurding to help cover some of my travel expenses.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I don't really want to grow up. But if the fire that keeps me skiing ever dies than I might pursue something in adventure tourism. I have a degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management and love traveling.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I have a new motto I am trying to live by... "be fearless!"
I also like: anything outside, hot pink, coffee, chocolate, wine, getting dirty, laughing and traveling
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
I made my debut on Eurosport not skiing but climbing on the Inukshuk at the pre-olympic World Cup in Whistler. I was posing for a picture with my friends. Don't worry... later that day I made my skiing debut as well!
