Hey everyone! My name is Summer Fenton. I live . . . believe it or not in San Francisco! I know San Francisco DOES NOT have any snow what- so -ever and snowboarding is not your everyday backyard sport here. When I started at four ½ yrs old, I would beg my parents to take me up to Tahoe with them to snowboard. The first time I strapped into my bindings on my snowboard, I was hooked !! So, my dad, mom, sister, brother and I would travel up to Tahoe every weekend, so I can snowboard. In Tahoe , I am known for being a weekend warroir. The drive from San Francisco to Tahoe is a 3 ½ to 4 hour drive(depending on traffic, it could take way longer) that we would do every Friday night. Sometimes we would get stuck in traffic and so we would sleep in the car. My friends didn’t quite understand why I wanted to snowboard, but that didn’t stop me from wanting to be a snowboarder. My fav riders are Jessica Dalpiaz, Torah Bright and Erin Comstock !! So... this is how it all began. From kindergarten to 6th grade, I went to one of the best private catholic schools in a San Francisco. It is called Saint Gabriel’s School. By the time, I was finishing 6th grade, I decided to go to another school that provided me the best of both worlds (which is a good education and time to be able to snowboard). My parents always said, education comes first. If I keep good grades (I’m talking all A’s and maybe one B+) in school then my reward would be ME getting to snowboard. Of course, I kept that end of the bargin !I want to snowboard !! Nowadays, I get to go to Tahoe more than just the weekends. I am VERY grateful to have this awesome blossom opportunity. Woohoo!
Now off to my crazy/ loving family. Well, there’s my dad-al, mom-victoria, younger sister, Skylar- 11 and brother, lucky-7. My family all snowboards and my dad is a body boarder and skateboarder. Maybe that’s where I get my extreme side. My sister and brother both do soccer, kickboxing and basketball. One thing that us kids have in common is that we all like to rip up the skate park and snowboard the mountains. My family always supports me. I love them a lot.
Moving on the next subject,. When I’m not on the mountains, I like to surf, sk8, hip hop dance, and chill with my friends (you know who you are) and travel. I live just a few footsteps away from Ocean Beach where I surf with my sunset friends and dad. I like to collect shells and sandglass there too ! My sister, brother, friends and I like to skate at the local skateparks. I also do hip hop dancing three times a week. My teacher really works us out. I've traveled to Paris, London, Mexico, and Italy with my Tutu. I've got to experience being in different countries and cultures. It is something that i will always remember. Every year I go to Hawaii for a month to visit my Papa and Grandma D. I love how the water is warm when I surf and I like eating the yummy tropical fruits.
