How I got started

Used to run 100Km per week , I was injured a lot form all of the pounding, so I started riding my road bike to keep fit. That was almost 26 years ago.

Goals for the Future

Major Goal To Win My Age Category in the TransRockies MTB Stage Race. The race is seven days long with 600-700 kilometers of the toughest terrain in Mountain Bike Racing.

What inspires you to compete?

Troubled times for three years after I finished high school. I was unemployed, living at my parents and not working on a future. My Bicycle gave me back my self esteem and gave me goals to work toward. This renaissance lead to all my personal and sporting success.

Some Personal Information About Me:

Married since 1987 I`m the kid in the family since we do not have children.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train all year round, I put in thousands of miles/kilometers on my road bike. My Aerobic Fitness is the single most important aspect of my success. Over the last 8 winters I have XC skied approximately 15000 Kilometers to train my aerobic engine. My daily schedule goes something like this: Get out of bed 9:30-10:30am,Coffee 10:30 Training 12pm until 3:30-4pm Work 4:45-2am Repeat

Why do you compete?

The Challenge The Amazing Fitness The Great Feeling of Euphoria/Accomplishment when you finish a race or great epic training ride. Satisfaction when stomping 20 year olds.

Schools Attended

University of Alberta 1987-1992 Recieved my Degree in Physical Education and Sport Studies.

2005: Bronze medal MTB XC World Masters Games
2004: Ontario Cup MTB XC Series Overall Series Winner.
Seventh Place Overall Age Categories Mattawa To North Bay 100Km MTB Endurance Race.
2003:Fifth Place Overall Age Categories Mattawa To North Bay 100Km MTB Endurance Race.
