My name is Jacob Rhodes; I am a 13 year old in the 8th grade, and I started racing quads in 2007. My love for the sport and a desire to achieve superior results has driven my passion. I have also learned that I not only love the sport, but I love the people involved in racing. As a result, my father and I started a racing team called “Team RFJ” (www.teamrfj.com) in 2008. RFJ stands for “Racing for Jesus”. The team was formed out of the desire to minister to the youth who participate in Off-Road Desert racing. I want to serve as an encouragement to my fellow riders and offer a fun and supportive environment for fellowship. In 2009 Team RFJ started a Rider Reimbursement Program. All youth that come to the “Racing for Jesus” trailer 30 minutes prior to the riders meeting, and participate in Bible study and prayer have their entry fees reimbursed. Team RFJ has joined forces with several corporate sponsors to support this program. We have also secured several team product sponsors that offer discounts and free product to Team RFJ; these in turn get distributed to those who participate in the Team RFJ Rider Reimbursement Program. In 2010 Team RFJ will be starting a helmet exchange program. I see many riders that have older, unsafe equipment. We have secured commitments from several helmet manufacturers to provide new helmets in exchange for old helmets. It is my desire to not only minister to the spiritual needs of fellow racers but also to provide for their physical safety needs as well.
I am also seeking sponsorship for my individual racing program. I have and will continue to be a role model for those who participate in our sport. I have a commitment to excellence that goes beyond the race track and ministry. I will be an outstanding supporter and spokesperson for your products both on and off the track. While I have had much success on the track in 2009, I am a firm believer that the way you conduct yourself off the track is just as important. So please take the time to consider giving me the opportunity to represent your great company in the 2010 racing season.
