Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

The challenges you take on, and planning that you do for every aspect of this sport keeps you mentally tough. The physical benefits from training and racing are the rewards you keep throughout your life!

What inspires you to compete?

After training for hours upon hours and months upon months, it's good to know that the hard work pays off. Competing sets off the adrenaline charge that allows me to see how my work is coming along.

Describe your style...

I love to hammer on the bike, it's my best discipline. I'm getting much stronger on the swim and I think I keep a pretty steady stride on the run. I feel I am best at longer distances, but I love to challenge myself with speed work for competing at short distances.

Music?

I like to listen to my iPOD set lists when I weight train and ride the trainer. I have so much music that it all depends on my mood for that day. I'm most inspired by "RUSH"! I especially listen to "One Little Victory" before I compete. It's not about winning the race, but about winning my goal for the day!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I'll probably never grow-up, but at my age I am what I am! When I grow older and I'm not able to train as hard, I want to stay fit and healthy to enjoy my golden years.

Looks like you have traded in your baseball spikes for running shoes - bathing suit - & bike. Anyway, I found this site looking for you on the web. Looks like you could use a swim coach - maybe I can help. Also, the Curiosity Factor is back in action again this Saturday night in Fairhaven, MA. Contact me if you can.
