Competition

How did you get started?

I became involved with this sport because of a knee injury caused by a heavy running training schedule. I started swimming alot while in rehab. I came across a triathlon on the internet and I decided to give it a go. At the age of 9 to 11 years old I was competing almost evry weekend in triathlons or duathlons. I soon just became so in love with the feeling i got on my bike and my natural ability that i soon just gave up everything and started racing bikes. I quickly became obssesed and now there's no looking back.

Junior Pan American Games; Road race 12th New Britain Nutmeg Games; Women Pro-1-2-3 1st Chris Thater memorial Criterium; Senior Women 3rd

What are you planning for next season?

This season I am planning on doing bigger races such as NRC calender races and placing top 15. In smaller races I simply plan on winning. I am training very hard to make this season very succesful and the best one yet. Also a big goal of mine is to win nationals and possibly go to worlds. I am very focused in road racing this year and nothing will get in my way.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

I would have to say it's a tie between the Pan-American games and winning the New Britain Criterium, wich also tied into getting me a spot on to TargetTraining. The Pan- American Games opened my eyes to whole different style of racing and being asked to join a professional team has brought me to an entirely different level of racing. Both two very different experiences but both very vital lessons for a young cylist to learn.
