Personal Q&A

What inspires you to compete?

What inspires me to compete is the undying graditude i get when I'm racing my bike. The feeling of power and strength I get within my soul when I'm hanging on by my last thread and i think i can't go one pedal strok further but i dig deep down into my heart and i pull out evry ounce of power i have and I put it all into my legs. The feeling i get when all of that pays off and i stand number one on that podium is priceless, nothing or none will ever beat that feeling. I find my inspiration from within myself to keep pushing and to keep on dreaming.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train evrey day, 2-3 hours a day. My schedule every day Monday- Friday is I wake up at 7:30 go to school come home at 3:30, on the bike by 4 and then after I come home I'm allowed to have the life of a "normal teenager", instead of a cyclist, it's nice every once ina while. On Saturdays and Sundays I race.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Like any young cyclist would tell you "I want to be a professional cyclist", but I do live in the real cycling world and realize it is not an ccupation. It is a lifestyle but not an occupation. Of course my dream is to be a professional cyclist but I do have an undying passion for animals. I love Vet Sciences i think it's facinating and I am consistently amazed with the Animal Kingdom, I would love to become a Zookeeper for exotic animals after I graduate highschool. I am currently attending a Vocational School for Veterinary Sciences and I love it! I intend on going to college for a degree in Small Animal Sciences after highschool in a collge in New Jersey, I could never leave this state.

Describe your style...

My style is very laid back. i get up int he morning I thorow jeans and t-shirt on my shoes, brush my hair and I'm out the door. It takes me all but 10 minutes tog et ready int he moring. I am very low- maintence and natural kind of girl.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I would say my most embaressing momentis when i was walking to class and I was lost in conversation with one of my friends and I walked right in to a swinging door. wellt hat door swung back and my books and binder went flying every where, leaving me 10 minutes late for class! Luckily the big red bump on my forehead was proof that I wasen't "causing any trouble".
