Ventura, California. (March 21, 2007) NEMA International, the originator of the mountain bike riding short, has been reborn! Under new ownership, NEMA will bring back many of their popular all-mountain riding apparel styles, as well as introduce new lines of clothing – fusing function and fashion for the mountain bike community.

Originally founded in the mid-90's, NEMA set out on a mission - to create a technical mountain bike specific short. After several hundred hours behind the sewing machine, NEMA crafted the first riding system - a system that bridged the inner liner to a durable nylon shell. In the years since, NEMA has continued to define the mountain bike apparel category, all the while staying true to the original goal... the product.

New NEMA owner, and former mountain bike racer, Erick Kozin states, "The most important thing, is that we are a rider-owned brand that will always be accessible to our customers. Whether they see us on the trails or call us on the phone, we will always be listening to our customers. A lot of what people can expect to see in stores, will be based on feedback from customers."

As NEMA revives & redesigns their line of apparel, they will initially return this summer with a limited collection in retail stores. Select models will include the Crown Jewel, Searcher, Jewel and Pivot shorts, as well as their Classic, Sonix and Apeks jerseys.

"I have always been a huge fan of NEMA products" asserts Kozin. "NEMA has always been known for their quality, and they were really the first company to make riding gear that was cool to wear on and off the bike."

On the horizon, NEMA plans to introduce new lines of riding apparel, including gloves and the highly anticipated downhill race kit, at this year's InterBike trade show in Las Vegas, NV.
