Introduction
The plans for the N.I. Racing Team are to make the 2009 season the most competitive
Season yet. During the off-season we have upgraded our equipment and implemented a strict workout routine to prevent mechanical failure and driver fatigue. With those changes and some newly found horsepower from our engine builder we can put more wins under our belt in 2009. N.I. Racing will be competing in 3 different point series simultaneously (Fl Triple Crown Points Series, Desoto Super Speedway Points Series, and the Charlotte County Motorsports Park Points Series).
The N.I. Racing team is an independent, one man team consisting of Robin Pope Jr. as the driver and trackside crew member. Rob Pope is the senior crew chief in the shop for N.I. Racing however he has a prior commitment to another team as their trackside support. Robin has been racing since 1996. Robin is a highly motivated young man, working towards making his racing dreams a reality. Robin took a 4 year break from racing to serve his country as an enlisted member in the United States Army. Robin now continues his support to the United States as a contracted Intelligence Analyst.
The 2009 season will be our 1st competitive season as a team in the Champ Kart series. Robin has competed for several years in flat karts. We decided to form a team to encourage people of all ages that you can be successful in any venture as long as you apply yourself.
Desoto Champ Kart Series
N.I. Racing will be competing in the Desoto Champ Kart series for the 2009 season. This is a relatively new series that consists of three separate points series (Fl Triple Crown Points Series, Desoto Super Speedway Points Series, and the Charlotte County Motorsports Park Points Series) being run simultaneously through ought the year. This series was adapted from a Kart Club that raced monthly, on Sundays. The racers enjoyed this style of racing so much that one person, Phil Harp, stepped up and sought out track promoters. Phil entertained them on the idea of a race class that would average 15-20 participants, have a devoted fan base, and was deserving of a chance to run as part of the "big show" with the regular Saturday night classes. On Thanksgiving weekend of 2005, Desoto Super Speedway in Bradenton, Florida gave the series a race date. Twenty-six champ karts showed up that night, and the series was a big hit! Our series is named in dedication to Desoto Super Speedway, which took a chance on us.
The Desoto Champ Kart Series has evolved yet again for the 2009 points series, adding another track and many new drivers. The Desoto Champ Kart Series now races at 5 major stock car tracks within Fl to include: Desoto Superspeedway, Charlotte CountyMotorsports Park, Citrus County Speedway, Auburndale Speedway, and Orlando Speedworld. Not only does the Desoto Champ Kart Series race at some of the most competitive stock car tracks in Fl, we now have some of the most competitive drivers Fl karting has to offer. With weekly entries ranging between 20 and 30 karts at each event, winning a Desoto Champ Kart Series race is an accomplishment in its own.
Team History and Profile
N.I. Racing has only been together one year, but we have been racing on and off for more than ten years. Robin Pope Jr. started racing in karts in 1996 at the age of 10. In 2001 to 2002 Robin Pope Jr. moved to Stock cars. After a short hiatus, Robin returned to his roots to quench the desire to compete, and is now looking forward to a shot at a multi championship season. Robin formed the team in 2007 as a way of motivating himself to race after his dreams; however a short deployment for the US Army altered his plans. Our goal this season is to score wins in the Desoto Champ Kart Series, Fl Triple Crown Series, Charlotte County Motorsports Park Series, and to place in the top 3 for year end points championship for each series.

Benefits of Race Kart Sponsorship
1.) Racing Karts are effectively moving billboards, offering visibility of a sponsor’s name on the race tack and in the pit area each race weekend. Additionally, N.I. Racing utilizes an enclosed hauler providing additional lettering opportunities for display of sponsors name for visibility going to and from all race events.
2.) Media coverage for motorsports in the South East region provides excellent additional exposure. Inside Fl Racing has announced that they will be covering the Desoto Champ Kart Series for the 2009 season as well as the local news media outlets. Big races in the 2009 season, such as the March 14th race at CharlotteCounty MotorsportsPark and the Dec 4th, fourth annual Trucker Charity race at Orlando Speedworld will also draw massive crowds and media exposure. We plan to participate in promoted car shows in the Tampa Bay Area and holiday parades as our schedule allows. These events will increase the amount of media exposure for our sponsors.
3.) Sponsor identification through public address at racing events further increases a company’s exposure to the public. Track announcers generally refer to a driver’s kart by the sponsor name. And repeat that identification numerous times per race event.
4.) Sponsor identification on driver and team uniform (s) and helmet can provide additional company exposure.
5.) Sponsor identification on T-shirts, and the up coming N.I. Racing website.
6.) Product sampling in the pit area can be an additional service N.I. Racing can offer your company. Whatever your company specializes in, a promotion can be set up to hand out materials of your choice to fans, racers, etc...
