He has competed at numerous NMRA-sponsored events, including those at Maple Grove, Atco and Maryland International raceways. In 2007, Tommy got his chance to drive for JPC Racing and Michael Washington in NMRA’s K&N Filters Factory Stock Series. His first race at the Nitto Tire Ford Nationals in Bradenton, Florida led to setting the ET national record for his class and his first event victory. He continued that early success with back-to-back runners-up at the Bassani Exhaust Nationals in Reynolds, Georgia and Aeromotive Ford Nationals in Milan, Michigan. He again reset the national record in Georgia. Finishing up the season, Tommy claimed his first #1 qualifier spot at the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, Kentucky and finished runner-up at the same event. In his first year, Tommy won the NMRA Factory Stock World Championship and was named 2007 NMRA Rookie of the Year – an unprecedented achievement. In the same year, he also took home the win for the Maryland International Raceway (MIR) Ford Fever Stock class. In 2008, Tommy began the season showcasing his 2007 Championship car and combo. After the second race, he changed his engine and drive train to the current 1989 Ford Mustang LX. This past season, Tommy achieved five #1 qualifier spots, reset the national record twice, came in runner-up once and won two national events, including the World Finals. Capitalizing on this success, Tommy wrapped up his second NMRA Factory Stock World Championship. Rounding out the year, he defended his title in the MIR Ford Fever Stock Class and made a semi-final appearance at the MIR World Cup Import versus Domestic’s highly competitive All Motor Street Class.
