It's been hot, real friggin hot. Haven't been riding much, due to the weather, I have, however done some upgrades to my bike and done a little testing. I added an 11 oz flywheel weight, and a spark arrestor, so I took it out to the tightest, trial in 100 miles to test them out. It was Tuesday morning, and by 8am the heat was already appearant, I got out there by myself, unloaded, geared up and warmed up my bike. As soon as it was warmed up I hit the trail. Normally, I would ride the majority of this 10 mile loop in the top of first as the KX 250 has absolutely no bottom end. I also have added a Moose tourque block, and the combo of the three allowed me to grunt the crap out of the KX, which is a feat unheard of in the stocker. 2nd gear in all but the tightest of tight stuff, which on this trail requires complete stopping and usualy pushing your bike through some of these trees. I am absolutely sold on flywheel weights nows, who would have thought you could use compression braking on a two stroke, well you can, I've never rode more smoothly with as much confidance. Traction was great in the dry sand, and on the slicker hard packed areas of the trail.
As my speed progressed in the more open areas, I was able to let off the gas to slow down for turns and not have to brake as much and when the RPM's got as low as where the bike used to stall out it the fire was right there, I love this flywheel weight.
More later.

So far my season has been pretty bad as far as my results are looking, however this is my first season, and I am just feeling it out. So far I have only missed one event, which was the Clanton Harescramble, due to my wife being out of town and me having the kids. All but one of the races I rode my old 1990 YZ250, and at the Indian Springs Harescramble I rode, for the first time, my new 07 KX250. It was still really stiff but at least I rode 3 laps. I have since broken it in and it is feeling realy good.
I would also like to show my appreciation to all of my sponsors for their support, and hope to maintain thier support in the 08 season.
The next event is the Sugar Hill Harescramble in Bolivar,Tenn on June 24th. I should have my Graphics from Ride PG by then and flying my sponsors colors high and mighty.
Thanx again everyone for the support, see you at the races!!!
