Overview

How I got started

Started riding around on the mountain in 2003. 2004 was my first year racing finishing 12/61 in my junior sport class. 2005 was a busy season and did not get a chance to follow up on many of my race efforts. 2006 was a relaxed season, toning my skills and having fun!

Goals for the Future

2007: I plan on racing all courses in the Mountain States Cup as well as Snowmass National and Deer Valley National. I will focus on DH but if I have the equiptment and $dough$ then I will be shoing up on the MTX tracks as well.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

I had two torn ACL's and could not compete in soccer and lacross anymore. The doctor said that biking was one of the best things I could do for the health of my knee's, so I took his advice and hopped on a bike.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am currenty a first year freshman at Colorado State Univeristy studying Aeronautical Engineering. I am 19 and am having fun in school. My family is from Boulder, Colorado and I have two siblings. I have great friends who also enjoy DH and a girlfriend of 1 Year + that doesn't think I will ever get her on the mountain.

Describe your style...

My steez? I donno, just laid back and chillin`. That`s my style.

Why do you compete?

I like to compete because it`s where everyone gets together and just has fun and rides! When I practice at races I get to ride with so many different people with many different riding skills and it`s cool to see how everybody does their thing.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

Traveling is cool as long as you don`t have to be in a car for a long time! Road trips with a lot of stops in between where you`re going and where you`re comming from are cool. The best story I have for a road trip would be one time I got sick and puked all over my sister`s best friend. For some reason she was cool with it...

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

In 2005 at the Wildflower Rush DH at Crested Butte, Colorado: I had gone into the final jump with more speed than I had during practice and got bucked and did a front flip in the air. I came un-clipped but then skidded down the mountain on my face with my arms at my side and my feet in the air. The only good thing was that I got up so quick that no one passed me!!!

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I go to the student recenter and spin for 30 mins - 1 hr a day followed by some upper body strength training. When the weather is nice, I am always out riding around campus and the town in between classes. During the heat of the summer when I'm not at a race, you can find me either running my own lawn mowing business or at keystone riding from 10:00am - 5:00pm. Being active it what helps me achieve my goals and promote a healthy lifestyle!

Music?

I can listen to anything as long as there is not screaming. Oldies, Rock, R&B, hip-hop, party, anything that sounds good and puts me in a good mood!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

When I grow up I want to be one of those engineers that helped build somthing awesome like the Hubble Telescope or the F-22 Raptor for the U.S. Military.

How's Life Treating You?

Life is treatin me well. I am in school and even though I do not have a car up in my college town, I still have my bike that will take me anywhere I want to go! My family is great, friends are great, and I have a grilfriend that makes it all worth it.
