State of the economy...

I thought I would make a blog about my experience with the state of the economy.

Never in my life, have I had a job interview that I did not walk out of there with the job... NEVER!!!
Until last week. The job? Would have been something that I could do with my eyes closed, was in the industry that I have spent the past 6 years in, and have basically been doing ALL of my life. Fitness.

This job was about 10 steps DOWN from other positions that I have had in this same industry before, and I had a perfect interview. Like I said, I have never not gotten the job once I was at the interview stage. I consider myself to be very good at interviews, face-to-face conversation, selling myself and I am told I am very good looking and well spoken.

NOW, with all that said... this job that I admitedly am overqualified for (that's the first part of the economical problem - jobs aren't out there) was given to someone who is MORE qualified that I am!!! Not only that, but there were 3 positions available!!! So that means that  3 people who are obviously also taking a huge step down the ladder just to have a job had gotten one of these 3 positions ahead of me!!
This was supposed to be one of those: Take the job because I can do it and get a paycheck while I look for a real career kind of situations.

Long story short, the fact that at least 3 people were more qualified and did a better interview than me at this job that was a major step down for all of us is a disappointing way to look at what the economy has done to the workforce.

I would like to meet these 3 people...

Got something to say?
