Why do you like this sport?
I enjoy riding because the freedom you have on the bike. I have learned that you have to be both mentally and physically capable of riding the tracks. Your mind will make you believe that you can make that jump, but physcially you better be able to make that jump. If not, whew... hello red cross flag. Both your mind and body will feel the impact. This sport shows an amazing family bond that people take for granted. This sport teaches you never to give up and always go out and give a 110% regardless of the outcome… we all want to be the winner.
Do you train?
When I first started riding to build up my endurance I would train daily. I would read Cycling East to see what was recommended for the sport. I would try and ride at least twice a week. Now, I am lucky if I can get in a day of riding in before the races. I try to make sure that I am at the track on Saturday to get my practice in before race day.
List your competitive highlights?
Winning 2 series and qualifying for the Loretta Lynn’s in my first year of racing. I won the Delmarva MX Series and the District 7 Gold Series both for Vet C. I rode the 250c class for both series but was knocked out the trophy contention because of my lack of knowledge with the rules.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
First, my biggest accomplishment is moving to the B class within a year of riding. Second, winning the Andrew Snyder Memorial 5ft. trophy for the second year in a row. I won it last year for Vet C and this year for Vet B. Last, qualifying for the Loretta Lynn’s again.
What are you planning for next season?
My plans for the 07 season are to ride safe and have fun. I am riding the 25 +B and Vet B class this year and hope to run top 5 in both classes. I would like to visit different tracks and get some sponsorship help. I would like to get 2 new bikes for the 08 season, so I am looking for some sponsorship help with that. My main goal is just to have fun, see new tracks and meet more riders.
