Spent two days this last weekend in Kamloops testing for KORR. We were able to run on the track both Sat and Sun and was able to get three fivelap motos in on both days. My first day resulted in decent 1:18sec laps and by last session Sunday had it down to 1:12sec laps. Bike was good and my confidence is much higher than when I raced there last year in October. Stay tuned, first race is May 24.

Well it's 2009 and I need to get my butt back to training. I took a couple of months off  training and did just light stuff and a bit of cardio. I have an event tomorrow in Chilliwack so I can get back on the bike. Riding time here last month was impacted by the weather and a lack of funds so I am looking forward to tomorrow to just get some seat time. April is the official start to my 09 season and I will be race ready for then.

My race this past weekend was a great ride and good fun. I raced in the KORR season ender event in Kamloops BC on Oct 05. I ran with 5 other riders and placed at the back of the pack. I was learning the track in my first two motos and for the main I just went out and had fun. The other competitors were on faster equipment and I had a tough time keeping up. For the main I decided to just have fun and it was awesome. I did some pretty cool stuff on each lap that I can build on for next season. The rain hit for the first moto but let up for the second. It then returned hard for the main and it was a sloppy rutted mess. The buggies and trucks chew up the course pretty bad but it all adds to the challenge to adapt. By the end of the day I had most of the track figured out and was carrying good speed over the back two jumps and the main straight. I will work on my race craft for next season and try to find quicker lines through the corners and a bit more confidence over the table top and the middle track jumps. I have to say the people there in KORR and the fans were great!!!!!  It was a really good weekend and I am amped about racing there next season for all four rounds.

Thanks to my sponsors and I'll let you know about my next event in Seattle next month.

My next event is Kamloops BC and the KORR off road series. Quads, buggies and trucks race this series on a closed course outside of Kamloops British Columbia, Canada. I am amped about the event and I am looking forward to racing with these guys.

My race on Aug 16th in the WORCS series round at Olympia was a great time and pretty successful. I finished 9th in my category but probably near the rear overall. I will check the final results. It was a pretty amazing event. I was not really quick but I was cautious and focused more on finishing than setting a quick pace. The moto track was a new experience and the wooded section was more technical than many of the trails we ride around here. Add in the spirit of competition and trying to race other riders and you get a very challenging course. It was really hot too, so that factored into my efforts and I am thankful I have been training as it helped me immensely. I have a few things to work on but I am happy with my effort. Thanks for the support from each of my sponsors, family and friends, without you this would not be possible.

We concluded this last weekend with a 50 minute practice to simulate and prepare for my first WORCS round in two weeks. My physical fitness level is pretty good, my biggest problems were arm pump and some fatigue in my hands. Overall I was pretty satisfied. More time will be spent on arm and shoulder work at the gym. The bike ran well, no real surprises here. My change to semi synthetics were better for my clutch and overall operating temps during the run. Due to the weather here, very hot, I spent some time in the pits hydrating myself and taking a break for the sake of my arms and wrist.  My crew did a great job doing thier tasks and overall I think we are better prepared having done this test. We will focus on completing this first event in Olympia, making sure I am there for the finish and ensure I can endure the event.

Today we spent the day with the quad and our rig at a local automotive event. We handed out event flyers for the Olympia Wa race, and some handouts with our sponsors and schedule on it. We talked to a number of people and had a good time. We took the opportunity to show people the machine and expose the sport to many who knew little about it. This was a very valuable opportunity. This is just the start of our plans to promote our program and our sponsors.

Hi Everyone,

I have never had a blog before, but here goes.

I want to let you know how my pre –season is shaping up. I have spent the beginning of the summer and all spring getting my quad prepped for my first race in August. I will be racing in the 30+ class at the Olympia Wa round of the WORCS series. I have all of the parts and gear needed, my trailer is welll equipped and decked out and my truck is running top notch

I have begun accepting sponsor offers and my support team is coming along nicely. My guys and gals are ready to help out on race day so we look good to go

I spent a week in the Oregon dunes on holidays getting mucho seat time. I was riding a lot and it felt great!!  The seat time should help me so I did a number of whoops sections in the trails and a lot of off camber stuff to help with balance and such.

I’ll let you all know how the race goes in this blog and I'll have helmet cam footage from my GoPro camera in my profile. Should make for some fun video footage.

signing off for now,
