having an awesome fathers day

Well now its has been awhile since my last posting, like about a year!! Wow how things change over the years. Well at the time of my last posting I was all caught up with moving out, finishing school, starting work and all those interesting things that real life has to offer. I think all the racing I actually got in last year was the first and last races. This year was supposed to be my major come back but I bought a newish truck and ran in to small bike problems, which are hopefully fixed now. So now what is ahead? Well I plan on doing some casual racing, or IMO pretty much go to a few races in the fall, maybe 1-3 max. I am going to school for 6 weeks to further my apprenticeship so I can make more money and do more racing.I am hoping that next spring I will have things all together for racing and JUST DO IT!! I will have to see what I am doing for my schooling for the next 2 years but after that I am a free for that extra 6 weeks.

Thats all for this article

Well I accomplished the main thing this spring and that was passing my college course with an A and landing myself a job right away. Motocross on the other hand didnt quite happen. At the beginning of May I decided I had to move out of the parents house, so needless to say the money saved for racing went to rent instead as well as food and hydro. I hope to start training again soon and get back into the racing scene again. But even though moving out set me back a bit for racing it is a great experience for myself. And as far as keeping myself occupied my weekends have been normally spent paintballing... I hope to try some speedball at some point as all me and my friends have done is woodsball...... lotsa fun.... I make a good sniper :p.

Anyways I hope everyone else has had a great year so far with plenty of trophies for the walls!!! I hope to be joining back with the good times of racing.

Its been awhile since my last blog article, i know. Just very busy lately with riding trips, school and work. Started getting real work experience in a shop last week and they may apprentice me!! I am so stoked and am amazed at how much I have learned aside from school.

Well Sunday the 13th is the day. First race of the season. Unfortunately with being so busy I havent been able to train as much as would have liked to but I am still feeling 100% better and more comfortable than last year.

Theres just too much to go back on with the weeks I missed so I am just going to end here and update as much as possible.

I guess things are getting alot more busy these days as the sun is out more and all of a sudden I cant find much time to do everything I have done in the slow winter months. I havent been able to keep up to date here for at least 2-3 weeks but have gotten a chance to now. But as usuall, I do school for the week days.... only have barely 3 months to go!!! as well as delivery driving for my mom. Weekends are strictly for riding and I have gotten some good time in. I feel just a little faster after each week, improve just a little more every lap. I have finally gotten to know my bike and how to use it to my full advantage as if it has somewhat become a part of me. It feels great to just get out on the bike and focus on that one thing.

Last weekend I had a really close call though. Some of the ppl that were riding at the pit brought their dog, which in the past hasnt been a problem but the dog for some reason decided to stand on the other side of a blind jump and I landed on him. The good thing is though that he was fine.... I fell as well but was also fine. Just goes to show that you never know what happens.

So now it is easter weekend and I am heading over to Vancouver Island to ride the tracks that I will be racing later on in April. Its gonna be a blast!!

Well until next time

This week got off to an interesting start. Went riding on thursday and there were some guys out riding that i have rode around since i had started riding... they had been riding quite a bit longer than I have. The one guy had a 450 and I held him back for a few laps until I hit a dip and got on the gas, causing the front end of my bike to jump up. With my front end pointing at the sky above, I decided to let go and eject... but it didnt work the way I wanted it to do. I wacked my head on the ground pretty hard but am thankful that I dont skimp out on my helmet, chest protector and neck brace. They all probably all saved me from getting a concussion.

As for school, I did a lot of spark plugs, all on the same type of vehicle, and a few other little jobs. Got 96% on my exam for basic engines cylinder heads.

Today I am gonna go out shooting, but thats about  all I got for this week

On friday i decided to go over to vancouver island and ride nanaimo's mx track The Wastelands. It was the first day of opening for the year since the winter snow and the track was in okay shape. It was rutted pretty bad in some parts and really muddy in others, but i feel that i learned alot riding in the muck. I brought my b/f with me and taught him how to ride my bike a bit.... its amazing to see how far I myself have come up from way back when I would stall 90% of the time before I would get moving.

Riding was great and so was the rest of the week. I got quite a few jobs done in class and might be starting some work in march. The course is only 4 more month to go.

I am hoping to get some pics and stuff from the weekend up tommorrow or something.

Today I came to the realization that my 10 month course is done in 4. I can go and work for money and a decent wage compared to working retail. I cant believe how fast time has flown. I usually pay attention to little things, like temperature, consistency of sunny days and of course the birds that return for spring each year. We already have had a few geese come back this way, and I think I heard some spring birds in the area.....

... Well anyways enough of that. Last weekend I helped a friends dad pull a motor out of their 1988 chrysler Lebaron. it was a pretty fun job, and i hope to eventually have pics up on it. I also got my mountain bike up and rolling again finally. I sure missed out on some great riding with it down.

Aside from school I have been house sitting for somone I used to work with... taking care of her cats..... i have never really lived around cats and all I can say is that I am a total DOG person. Cleaning hairball messes and the litterbox is bad enough.... then the fact that you cant get any sleep because the cats want to be up all night. Then the cats have no respect for the had that feeds them.... one of them ends up attacking me!!!

well this weekend I am hopin to get out on the RMZ. otherwise thats about all I got for now

Peace

Last weekend we had a really nice sunny day, great for riding.... except the fact that the good riding places had a bit of snow and just made riding no fun at all and wrecks the jumps if ridden hard. So i only got out for like maybe 15 minutes of riding. With the weekend out of the way I was on to school for the rest of the week. Worked on the college van for many little jobs like intalling new headlight assemblies, wiper blades and distributor cap and rotor.

The most exciting thing to happen (in a bad way) this week was when I ran myself over with the vehicle I was working on. Yeah thats right! I ran myself over. Had the vehicle all hooked up for a wheel alignment and was calibrating the machine while it was on jacks. I had to lower it and forgot it was still in neutral.... jounced the suspension, turned my back then..... BANG! uhhh whoooahhh theres this big green van almost on top of me.

As bad as it sounds it was more funny than anything... i didnt get hurt, just startled... in fact i think i started yelling at the van cause I didnt know what was happening.

Welll thats all I got for this week.

Hope everyone has a good week, for those who can ride, ride safe, and for those who cant.... patience, your time to shine will come!

And another week closer to April when I think racing starts again. Ya, I STILL dont know when the racing starts up again and its bothering me because thats the only thing I want to know right now.

Well anyways this week wasnt any thing special. Worked on an F250 doing the tie rods and a wheel alignment, and an old Buick century. The Buick was a pain in the rear... all I had to do was swap out the thermostat and replace it with a new one...... but getting the housing back on without leaking was my biggest challenge. First I didnt have the thermostat in properly, and it leaked. Then I clamped a rag between the housing..... and it leaked. I thought I got it right the third time but it still leaked. Further inspection showed a corroded spot that was causing the problem.

Yesterday my whole class went to Vancouver Island to tour the college over there... I just have to say that I cant wait till I go to school for second year mechanics.... the shop there was a dream.

well thats about all I got this week. Hoping to get some work done today and header out to the gym
