Overview

My name is Michael Sharp, I am 18 years old and live in Ankeny Iowa. I am a senior at Ankeny High School, I ride for Team Storm Lake Honda and I’ve been with them for about 4 and half years. In 2005 I raced every weekend and I got 6th place in the state on my CR85 and I also raced 125 C and got 10th in the state with only 10 races on my 125 but in 2006 I moved up to 125 B and my goal was to practice twice as hard with the best riders in Iowa and that’s what I did. I qualified for Poca City in 125 B but for some family reasons I was unable to go. 2007 my goal was to win the Toyota Win MX Series and that’s exactly what I did and a long with that I won the Lamoni Mx Park series also. 2008 I moved up to the A class to better myself in my motocross career. I raced the Hawkeye Downs Motocross championship series. I got 3rd place in the 250 A and I got 6th in the Open A. 2009 I plan to do even more and race the 2009 Arenacross Series, Millville Super series and the Hawkeye Downs Motocross championship series in the 250A,Open A and 16-24A classes.
I Practice 4 times a week and train every day in the morning and try and ride in the evening. I race every other weekend. This year I’ve been traveling a lot, I have been racing in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and in North West Iowa, In the winter I go down to Oklahoma, Texas, and Arizona to practice and race. But for 2009 I plan to continue by training every day and riding when ever I can. My training consists of lifting weights, running, swimming, biking, stretching and a healthy eating diet.

Goals for the Future

I plan to practice twice as hard with A riders learning everything I can from the top riders in the State. We plan to race several regional events including Millville, and qualify for Poca City, Lake Whitney and Lorretta Lynn`s in the125A 250A and Pro Sport classes.
