Black Jack Nationals!!
I had a GREAT time at the Black Jack Nationals in Reno this weekend!!!Got to see Donny Robinson, he took a picture with some of us from Napa Valley CRUSH Bmx, its so great that he remembers all of us,he was so busy signing autographs for everyone, but he took the time to talk to all of us and to take pictures with us, we were all very excited!!!! alot of my friends from Napa were there and I met alot of NEW friends that I had been talking to through Loopd!!
I got to meet a A Pro this weekend!!!...My Dad and I were having dinner at the Applebees after the races on Saturday, and there we met A pro Jim Brown and his father they were sitting at the table across from us, they were both so nice, talk to us for quite a bit, my dad and his dad got along quite well, they gave us much advice that we took in, they invited us to come to the Supercross tent the next day, which we did, everyone there was so nice, they all took pictures with me, talked with me, it was a AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! Thanks to everyone on the Supercross Team for all the Words of Wisdom, I will take them in an use them wisely.
Well this is how the racing part of my weekend went :
Saturday I raced 7-8 open, Moto 1 (5 riders - taking 2) I had a bad gate (gate 8), but made up the ground and was in 2nd by the end of the 1st turn. I was working my way towards first through the rhythm section (3rd straight), got a little squirrely and almost lost it. I gained my composure, but by the time I slipped to 4th and that is how I finished. Moto 2 (3 riders - taking 2) I had an excellent gate (gate 4), pedal manualed the step-up (1st straight) and never looked back. I finished with a strong first. Semi-main (8 riders - taking 4) I had an excellent gate (gate 4), secured 1st by the double (1st straight) and never looked back. I finished 1st . Main (8 riders) – I had a bad gate (gate 6), started to make up ground ended up getting jammed in turn 2 to avoid the chaos and finished 6th.
Saturday (8X class) Moto 1 (7 riders – taking 2) I had an awesome gate (gate 6), through turn 1 we were three wide, down to two coming out of the second and I secured 1st at the end of the rhythm section. From there on I had to pedal like crazy to the finish line.
Semi-main (8 riders) I felt great, my gate was awesome (gate 2), fought the traffic, but by that time it was too late to catch the NAG 2 rider Wyatt Hubbard, so I took 2nd.
Main (8 riders) I started in lane 8 and was flying into the 1st turn until I hit a mass of traffic and had to hit the brakes, spent the rest of the race trying to make up some ground and ended up finishing in 7th
Sunday (8X class): I was racing Wyatt and Kyle who are NAG 1 and NAG 2 riders, had a great gate (gate 5) I did my best to stay with them and end up finishing 3rd, I felt pretty good though that I stayed with them as they are quite fast. Moto 2 (5 riders - taking 2) I got an awesome gate (gate 1) , blasted through the first turn and stayed in front for the remainder of the race. Finished 1st.
Semi Main ( 8 riders) this is where my racing day ends, Kyle the NAG 1 rider is in lane 1, I'm in Lane 2 and the rest of the field. Riders ready.......gate dropped kyle had an awesome gate and I was right there with him, Into turn one we go...I forced Anthony high and down the second straight we blazed neck and neck chasing kyle, we went into turn 2 hard, got tied up, my front tire slipped and I flipped end over end into the rhythm section only to come to a stop, just in time for the rider in 8th place to run right over me, OUCH!!! that kinda hurt ALOT!! By the time the dust cleared there was no chance of getting back into the race. I didnt make it to the main, but hey, I got some real nice battle wounds to bring home to mom!! I wonder what shes going to think of them?
