Snowboarding

Hi my name is Kirby Kelly, I am 12 years old I live Algonquin Illinois I am currently home schooled in Progress Academy it’s an online schooling program. I have been Snowboarding for about 5 years and competing for 3 years. I compete in the USASA, I would say my first Nationals would have been my favorite Nationals so far because I went to Copper Mountain not knowing what to except and I ended up do really good and I met a lot my good friends from snowboarding (third overall freestyle.) However this year at National I was ranked 6th over all for freestyle in menehune girls. I also really liked the US Open that was really fun too it was the biggest pipe I had ever been in I got fifth there and I was so excited I can’t wait until next year.

I live down the street from the only snowboard park in the area called Raging Buffalo I really like riding there. I stopped by there one day to check it out I really wanted to try it so for Christmas I got a lesson package and I’ve loved to snowboard ever since. So that's how I started riding. I would say my favorite riders are Erin Comstock and Jessica Dalpiaz. My favorite movies are As if and The Devil Wears Prada. Besides Roxy my sponsors are Warp Skate park and MB boardshop.

My goals for next are to get my switch 540 down and try a 720 . Oh ya and step it up on boxes and rails. In pipe I just want to go bigger learn a frontside 720. I can’t say I am inspired by any one thing or one person but I do the things I do for fun because I make friends and I get to travel to a lot of new places. I also am a level 8 gymnast I think gymnastics really helps my snowboarding. Now to tell you about my family, everyone is really supportive of all of my activities and sports. I have 2 brothers C.J. is 10 he really loves to skateboard and my other brother John is 1 year old, he really likes to pull my hair. I think he is the cutest baby in the world. My Mom and Dad are the best, they pretty much let me do everything I want!! Than there are my 2 dogs Spike is an American bulldog he is more of the family dog and then I have my dog Roxy she is a mini dachshund she’s tiny. Now you know all about me!!!
