So last weekends race at Fontana was pretty rough for everyone. I watched a man break his ankle in the g-out before even taking a practice run and then when things seemed they couldnt get any worse, they did. It rained from about 4 in the morning(i know because i was sleeping...or should i say not sleeping... inside my truck) until the first few pro-racers went off the line. When the race began, the sun came out, burned the clouds, and clumped the mud. Every run was different for the competitors as the course was changing with every carve in the mud. I crashed going into the 2nd corner afte studying it all morning. I was so determined i hauled ass down the hill after mounting my bike to a time of 2;44... 4th Place... 2 seconds behind the leader. I can only imagine the possibilities and hope for the best next weekend.

This past weekend was the kickoff for Southride Racing Company's Winter Racing Series. This is my first race since 2004 where I competed in the Norba Nationals to prove to myself no injury could keep me down. After a few good seasons of cross-training and healing, my clavicle and multiple forearm injuries seem to have stabilized. I placed 11th in the race on Sunday with a decent run. I noticed my legs turn to jelly after the first pedaling section on the road but my bike handling skill are better than they have ever been. I have been training EVERY SINGLE DAY and will continue to do so for the remainder of this season in hopes of taking a spot on the OVERALL podium. Im still working on getting another downhill bike after mine was run over so it looks like I will be racing on my Prophet.
