Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I first competed in a local kayaking event when I was 16. I had competed a lot in Freestyle skiing and this gave me an edge over my competition having previously acquired mental skills you need to be a good competitor. I ended up wining the competition! Ever since I've been hungry to claim victory at a pro level.

List your competitive highlights:

Competing at the 2005 and 2007 World Freestyle Kayaking Championship. Placing 2nd at the 2006 Canadian Championship and never missing a spot on the Canadian Team.

What are you planning for next season?

Next season I will be competing on the North American circuit which consists of events throughout the United States and Canada as well as traveling to Europe to compete for Canada at the World Championship.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Becoming the first person from Atlantic Canada to ever make the Canadian Freestyle Kayak Team.
