My name is Kainoa Haas, I'm 17 years old, I currently attend the Myron B. Thompson Academy, and I grew up on the south shore of Oahu. I've been surfing for about 9 years now and I've been doing contests since I was 13 years old. My home break is a spot called Kaisers. It's a really short wave but it's the best spot on the whole south shore when it's small. Although I do focus everything on contests I'm not just about trying to be the winner. I started surfing for the same reason as everyone else, for the love of it and I won't ever lose that. I still paddle out and goof around on waves. You know, just doing silly things like trying to surf switch stance or trying to get barreled while doing a cockroach. I'm not out there to snake everyone and hog all the waves.
