ROW!!! IT WONT BE EASY...

Got my girlfriend riding a motorcycle for the first time! little CR 85. Ended up buying it from the Ellis's. It was pretty cool. I stopped and talked to Destry when he was riding his 500 around and she kept riding in a circle because she didnt really know how to stop yet and Destry and his Mechanic were yelling "pull in the clutch! now hit the brake!" and then all cheered when she got it. got a free pro clinic!!!
went to the bomb about 15 minutes before it closed on sat and just rode out and found a bitchen single track all the way down that looked like everyone was going for so just got my bike out there at 5:30 in the morning to save the spot.
banner dropped and I got to it first, leaning way back off the rear fender side by side with Jared Buoy all the way down until Destry crossed in front of us, slowed a bit but luckily kept my line and was about 7th to the top of the hill.
it was cool, Jake Argubright, Zack Dodson, Trevor Watson and I were all side by side cresting over the top. Jake was gone and Zack and I went back and forth a bit. Then Trevor got by me and I rode in his dust for a few miles then got him back and chased Zack down. came really close to passing him a few times but could never make it happen and always ended up back in his dust.
Came in to the Pits battling with Justin Imhof in 10th O/A, forgot to get water because I saw Zack leaving as I came in and headed out on the second loop. Justin got by me and I could see Zack about 30 seconds ahead of me going down the huge down hill with all the spectators. At the bottom looked up the hill and no one was coming. hit the cross grain stuff and Zack was gone. looked back and someone was catching me fast! it was Jake.
Jake caught me in no time and needed to pass Zack for the N1x, as I let him by i yelled "ZACK IS RIGHT THERE!!!" then just followed for the rest of the looop. Came into the pits about 2 minutes behind Zack, dramk a lot of water and then headed out again.
The beginning of the 3rd loop was awesome! my kind of riding. weaving through the bushes tapped out. I loved it, then we started hitting some cross grain stuff and someone else was catching me fast. It was a honda "crap its Andy!" the course started looking more and more familiar glanced back again and it was Hengeveld. Then I realized "This is Checkers Saturday course!" I knew what was coming at every turn so I was able to push it a little more. Henge was hounding me so I let him by up on the ridge.
Just tried to ride smart the rest of the loop. I was sitting in 12th O/A which is awesome for me. The last few virgin sections were pretty tough this late in the day but it was great practice. Came into the finish cutting Zacks lead on me down to a minute. If only I was closer on the start of the loop (and not riding like a grandma on the 3rd loop!) but thats racing and I'm happy with 12th O/A it was my first National top 20 finish and I'm super stoked!!!
IN CONCLUSION: 100s did a great job!!! it was cool that everything was so close to camp. Especially the start.
the first loop was pretty gnarly but fun. the second loop was great fun to. No where near as gnarly as Steve was building it up to be, but it was still a challenge.
The third loop, well I've got to say Checkers did a great job on it... sorry I loved it but I thought it was a bit un-imaginative to just make 90% of it a race we did earlier this year. the sections going to and from it were great though.
Everyone marking the course did a great job, Ryan sanders did a great job, all the loop captains made a great challenging course. it was definately one of the better put together nationals I've ever done, and I was stoked to hear everyone cheering in the spectator sections.
Thanks to my dad for everything. Thanks to my girlfriend for pitting and riding and all that. Thanks to T.O. Yam, Oneal, Dirtdigits, Dirttricks, Maxima, Bullet Proof Designs, IMS, FMF, SDG, BRP and all the rest!

Welp. My weekend was pretty well.
Set up Camp at 5 ish right on Charlie's Foundation. I see why the Viewfinders always try to camp there. very nice and outta the way. Went for a good ride out to teagle and back. Rode a bit of the 100s night race course and then got the bbq going with master chef Angie at the coals again. Bbq'ed corn in the husks is my new favorite desert treat!!! Every time I've had it I've done well.
Brad Pace stopped by and asked if he should race his bike with a known bad crank... "well you could, but it'll probably take out the rest of the engine if it did blow..." and he decided to race anyway.
Sun, Made my way WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out to the bomb and tried to steal Brad's line that he was telling me about the night before. Turns out they just added like 10 ft. to the left side and I stole someone elses line... oops. The bomb was so long I didn't have time to run it more then a few times. Got back and fueled up and got ready.
On my way back to the bomb my bike started trying to fowl the plug. We had just put a bigger main jet but didn't drop the needle. it worked fine at USDR but those courses are completely tapped. it was too late to do anything so I just cleared it out and made sure I had a spare plug.
Banner dropped after a minute 30 and we were off. got to the line first and pinned it. Saw a vet guy on a kx 500 blow by me like I was riding the bomb backwards!!! just kept it pinned and lost my line and was completely lost. I was zig zagging across the bomb looking for something and ended up all the way right!!! looked around and there was no one around so I thought I totally left the course but the bomb was right infont of me with a little dust so I just pinned it and came over the next rise and only saw 3 dust trails. sweet.
Got to the first little rocky hill thing and two guys were already piled on it. went around them and now I just saw two dust trails and I was right on them! so I just pinned it to keep from fowling a plug. glanced behind and Charlie Barney was RIGHT there!!! CRAP!!! Just put my head down punded some whoops and made as much dust as possible.
Came into the ravine after the second track crossing knowing there was that crappy little "s" thing in it and just waited for it. there was ONE down arrow almost right at it! I hit it still going pretty fast and almost died! just launched though it feet off the pegs puckering hard and hit the sand and back 100% throttle!
Loved the sandy virgin stuff in the back. you Shamrocks do know that about 10 ft. to the left it was completely smooth right? before and after the check? looks like thats where the trail was supposed to be then when they went back to mark it they couldn't find it and just made a new one.
hit the rd. and was stoked, pulled a little on Charlie, now he was at the end of my dust instead of straight in it. saw the turn arrows on to "C2" and was not stoked. pounded those whoops for a while then hit "C1" again still very un stoked. remembered that I had made a single track off to the left of the rd. in december and hit that. the rain had completely destroyed the trail and there goes charlie! "man, they graded the rd!" he told me after the race. great.
got in right on charlie and went around a corner staight into his dust and another viewie passed me. 405 open Ex. came into the pits right behind them in 5th O/A and got out just ahead of them.
Now it was on! I lost the trail thinking we were heading back to the end of the bomb and charlie just edged me out and pelted the crap out of me. Then I got him back and returned the favor. we were hauling side by side for the next 5-10 miles through the single track. Splitting a Hack and comin back together right infornt of them down a rd. splitting quads and minis all the way to the first track crossing and he edged me out.
Followed him through the whoops to the next track crossing where he stopped with a flat front and just shurgged and pointed. Now I had to put as much distance on the next viewie and the prowling Brad Pace as I could before the re-loop. Charged hard all the way to the split, crossed the tracks, looked left, saw no dust (besides what I thought were lappers) and charged into the virgin-ness as fast as I could.
Not that its a suprise to anyone that knows me but I am HORRIBLE in the rocks. And when there is no trail and I have no idea where I'm going and I've got a Viewie slowly creeping and the threat of the 3rd O/A and possibly Brad catching me losing 1st, I am even more of a goon. I can see how its tough for the front runners to follow the rocks when there are no trails and this was my first time running this far up.
I would ride 100 yrds then slow down, "where the hell am I going? oh over there" ride another 100 yrds "what the hell? oh over there" they had it marked to go in a straight line and I ended up zig zagging from ribbon to ribbon. Once we got to the top of the highest point I could not believe it. There was no trail. Just boulders and ribbon. "alright, here we go"
I'd glance back every so often to see if that viewie was gaining and he was as bad as I am in the rocks so I just rode better then I would ride if I were me and then pound the whoops as hard as I could which was pretty much the only place I was getting any time on him. The whole time thinking "Brad HAS to be catching us! we're riding like we have square wheels!" Finally hit the wash and just pinned it all the way to the finish grabbing my first non-euro top 10, my first top 5 and my first top 3 all in one swooop!
Charlie came over and we weere both stoked as hell about the race we had. We've gone back and forth all year but this was one for the books!
SO IN CONCLUSION:
first off, for everyone complaining about not being able to find the race... there are 5 saging areas in Red Mtn. - Dirt Diggers, Searles, Stephens Mine, Teagle, Charlies Pl. the flier said "marked from 395 and searles" so that drops dirt diggers. after that follow the signs. easy enough.
second, for the people complaining about the course markings, there were a few places there could have been more arrows but they ribboned the crap out of the course so I had no problem getting back to it if I lost it.
third, yeah the bomb was way out there but it was better then 4 aces because atleast there was a chalk line....
Loved the course. Lots of Virgin stuff with lots of fun twists and turns. Not a fan of whoops but great practice and my suspension is set up great right now so I was able to pound them all day long. Loved the Re-loop. I can say that, besides DMC, it was the hardest section i've done all year. I was so happy that I got to go left at the tracks instead of going right back into the whoops!!!
Thanks to the Shamrocks, Charlie Barney for putting up a great battle! my dad for changing my tire the night before the race and driving and pitting and everything else, Angie for master cheffing again!, all of my sponsors, everyone cheering and every one congradulating. Feels good to do well, finally. 1st 250 EX - 3rd O/A
AND A BIG CONGRATS TO MORGAN CRAWFORD FOR OVERALLING ON A KTM 200!!! HELL YEAH! And you gotta give it up to Brett Saunders for the 2nd O/A.

Had a really good time this weekend.
Got there about an hour before practice, convinced my dad to race and headed out. Got to the score rd. and didn't even try to ride it, made a line to the right of it through the bushes that ended up being slower and I never used during the race anyway. Came back in and got ready to take some shots of the kids races.
Watching those kids race is awesome! I make sure to watch every time because those are the kids I'm gonna have to be looking out for soon!
Watched the First Race on saturday and cheered my dad on. He was racing Expert Magnum ("R") and ended up 3rd Over All and 2nd Expert Magnum. Not to bad for only racing 1 enduro in the last couple years.
Got ready for our race, lined up and stretched out. Flag flew and we were off. Got an alright Jump but the tire just spun. didn't shift into second fast enough and Colby got to the line faster. Followed tight on him then Burson got infront of us then we all just went into the dust trying to find our own line through the bushes.
Only 2 other guys in my class, Zack Dodson, who was just ahead of me way off to the right, and 393 (?) who was just behind me. Zack started pulling away but I wasnt in any rush to get hurt, all I had to do was finish and I clenched the title. 393 got by me just after Check 1 and I just followed him staying about 10 seconds behind, but he was pulling a few seconds on me each rise.
Just rode smart, happy with 5th overall but on the third lap I started to get into a fast Rythm and got the score rd down and caught back withing 10 seconds of 393 then passed him while he was pitting putting myself into second. I didnt know he had pit so I just kept chasing lappers thinking each one was him.
When I came in on the last lap my dad yelled "HE'S RIGHT THERE!!" and I didnt see any one but when I looked behind me 393 was right on me! so thats what I thought he meant! but it turned out I had cut Zack's lead in half the 4th lap and he had about a 45 second pit right then (to my 10 second pit on lap 2)
so I just ran away from 393 as fast as I could! hit the score rd completely tapped all the way down. came around just before check 2 and that sandy canyon where there was about 10 guys all having a hard time with it and all of a sudden I see Zack slide left and up the side of the hill before the canyon. "I'M GOING FOR IT!!!" So I just barged through the bottle neck and up the end of the canyon thought for sure he was gonna come up right next to me, or in front of me, or right behind me.
I came out thinking "HE SAW ME!" and I kept hearing 2-stroke the entire time (even though it was probably just my bike!) and was on it like a bat outta hell all the way to the finish! Took the win and 3rd overall. Had no idea it was gonna happen nor did I have the intention but I was able to learn the course and just pound the hell out of the whoops!!!
Thanks Dave for putting on a great course! I wasnt a huge fan of the score Rd at first but after the second lap I was able to go as fast as I could all the way down it and I think thats what made all the difference. Pits also played a huge role in the race this weekend thats for sure!
Gotta thank my dad for driving all the way out, pitting, racing and cheering. My girlfriend Angie for BBQin', videoin', supportin, and rockin. All the people cheering really pushed me that last lap. It helped a lot. All my sposnors, especially Oneal, Dirt Digits, Dirt Tricks, IMS, FMF, T.O. Yam, 661, Dunlop, Bullet Proof Designs and all the other ones listed on my signature. if it wasnt for them I wouldn't be able to afford to race!
THANKS! and see you all in the desert!

had a blast this weekend!
Jason Parsons was my original team mate but he crashed at WORCS the weekend before. Trevor Watson asked to be my team mate the week before and I suggested he team with Jake Argubright since I already had a team mate!!! So once Jason was out I was pretty much screwed!!! (at the time I didn't know andy was going to ride) so I franticly called everyone I knew and luckily Daniel Kelly decided to come out of retirement for the weekend to ride with me!
The Open Expert start was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a long while. Only Bob Roberts bike started while everyone was left on the line (the very reason I dont mind lining up next to open bikes on the bomb!)
Our line was off and I got a bitchen jump. swerved infront of jake (on accident, but it worked) and lead the first 15 or so miles of the race (just before the road crossing) its really easy to go as fast as you can when theres little to no dust. Stopped for Burson as he was just getting going and jake rode by giving me a huge thumbs up!
Got behind Eddy who seemed to be having a hard time following the trail. I'd go to pass him then he'd veer left and end up a 1/4 mile ahead again. but thats neither here nor there. he ended up DNFing due to injury (I think)
Coming into Check 3 I could see a pie plater coming fast. It was either a vet or a 200 but they were on it! out of the check he block passed the hell out of me (which was rad because you never get to race that rough in the desert!) and then he was gone. It was Morgon Crawford. Talked to him later and he said sorry but I said hell no, that was great!
Handed the bike off to Daniel 3 minutes behind Jake (ALREADY!!! that dude hauls!!!) with Vandenberg about 45 seconds back. Jake came over and gave me a big hug. Daniel came back in in the same position and I got on. Just tried to keep up a good pace. Had clean air and minimal lappers.
Right before the windy/rocky sandwash I hit some rocks weird and high sided face first into the jagged rocks. Bust open my eye brows and got all scratched up. Broke a hand guard and scratched my plastic. boo hoo. but I do have to admit, the blue would have had a huge white gouge in it, the white still looks brand new!!! Had to take off my goggles that were splashed with sweat and got going again.
Stopped for Bob Roberts who had seized his bike and gave him my water bottle. Asked if someone had stopped to tell the check and he said "GET OUTTA HERE! keep racing!" and right then Andy passed me so I chased him down with no goggles, Got lost in the twisty rocks and came into the Pits about 15 seconds down from Andy.
Daniel got the wrist band and chased down Andy, battled it out and came out on top. Andy wasnt feeling well and he was Ironmanning it so I've gotta give it to him!
We ended up 6th O/A (after getting passed by Trueby) and 2nd 250 Ex. Had a bitchen BBQ and benched raced with friends all night long.
Got up and my head hurt bad so I decided not to race and just spectate. I hit 20 races on Saturday and there are 14 more or something so might as well relax, watch, and take some video!
SO IN CONCLUSION:
Lost Coyotes Did a great job. Loved the 1st half of the course, fast, fun, choppy, and lots of single track. The 2nd half not so much. But hey, thats just how that side of the valley is. The course was marked great, 1 or 2 more arrows in a few spots but all in all great lay out!
Thanks to all my sponsors, Daniel Kelly for teamin up, my dad for driving out, Ron Burns for driving us over to the home check, John Lennard for whatever, my girlfriend for bbqin again, and everyone cheering!!!

well, as you all know, it was hot as hell out there. seemed like everyone was just out cruising during the race. Lots of people exhausted on the hill climbs and lots of people just trying to get to the finish.
Dragged my girlfriend (angelique) out the the desert for the first time (half of the poeple that met her joked that they had always thought I was gay!) and she loved it. "we're going bike shopping as soon as we get back" she said sunday afternoon.
We got out to the desert at 5:50 on saturday and went for a short ride after the sun went over the hills to break in a new top end on mine and my dads new 08' 450 exc-r. Tried out blue lenses for the first time and seemed to work fine. cuts through dust a little more than persimmian. Came back and the g-friend bbq'd some chicken and pasta and watched a movie and we all hit the hay.
Up at 6 to sign ups and to go practice the bomb. Ryan was out riding my dads bike and helped me find/make a line. And it was a good one. Single track all the way down. A little twisty but I could still keep it pinned. Back to the trailer and got ready and lined up.
Started getting really hot and nervous about 15 minutes before the start. A ton of things on my mind - Bob Roberts and Colby Begin were to my right, Kyle Bristol to my left, my line crossed Jake Argubrights, not to mention Anthony, Morros and my brother. Loved Earl's Anthem and just got ready.
Banner dropped and we were off. Bob pushed me into a bush and I had to let off but his line vered right and I was back on it passing Jake and into clean air all the way to the end until a few riders from the right crossed into my line and then I was in the dust for the rest of the day. Tried to find clean air around the hill and ended up a 1/4 mile off course and had to come all the way back losing a handfull of spots.
Battled with Jason Parsons for a minute then he got me. Rode behind 511x for the entire first loop. Just fast enough to stay ahead of me but just slow enough so I was in his dust the entire time. Krause passed me just cruising. Knew something was wrong because it was like all three of us were on a sunday trail ride.
In and out of the pits and finally got around 511x and straight into Moyer's dust. Rode there for a while until the heat started catching me. Just rode safe and weaved through the lappers. about a mile before the finish saw a downed rider and stopped for him.
"are you okay"
"not really, can you help me pick up my bike?"
"um, uh..." as I look behind myself
"its okay buddy, just keep going"
as I get going an open pie plater passes me and I'm in his dust. Then hit a group of quads and started bush wackin it and here comes Krause so we drag raced all the way to the finish and he edged me out and I was 12th O/A, 3rd 250 ex. 2nd d-37 250 ex.
SO INCONCLUSION...
the course was awesome. Lots of fun little trails. Had a hard time with a lot of the 90 degree corners with a single arrow at them. as soon as I'd get a rythem there'd be a hard corner with a stake and nothing on it. The virgin trail after the first check on the second half was pretty hard to follow to. Mostly because the people ahead of me made so many crazy lines going everywhere. Loved the course though!!! Hardly any whoops and lots of virgin stuff.
Thanks to my dad ofcourse, Steve Romig for the VitaCoco, my girlfriend for having a great time and helping out, my bro for helping me with the line, all my sponsors, and the check with the garden hose!!!

spent the week getting my YZ 250 preped with a NiteRider mounted on the fork leg. Its a heck of a lot brighter then the stock light on the CRF 250x we rode at Prairie Dogs. Painted the inside of my hand guards and number plate black and called it a night.
got out to Charlie's place at 3:15 or so and got signed up. went and checked out the endurocross section. cool. then went and checkd out the start. what? it was facing right and the trail went left. And when I say "TRAIL" I mean TRAIL!! there was a single trail heading out so I got my bike ready and set it out on the line at 5:30. ofcourse by 7 it was Max Eddy, Bob Roberts, Mike Childress, myself, Nick Blais, and Trevor Watson all pointing at the same line!!!
We all lined up and spent about 15 minutes trying to get us all straight, staggerd or whatever. shades of the 4 ACES start line snafu. all the lines pointing left and the start poining right. Once we were lined up the flagger just kind of raised the flag really slow and Blais was off so we were all off!!! Cherged through the dust, passed Andy Vandenberg on the road and headed for Eddy and Watson.
Zig Zagging through the rocks in the dust at twilight was pretty intense! Eddy got Watson and was gone. The Andy and I got around Watson and I just tried to put some distance while it was still light because I knew I'd be at a disavantage once the sun was all the way down.
A bike started getting really close after Jake's Canyon and I heard it was a 4 stroke so let him by, it was Modica. GO GO GO!!! Came up ad over the tires getting High centered but still making it and coming into the pits first 250. Went back out with my light pointing "I-Dont-Know-Where" and tried to keep my distance.
Andy caught up and I could tell I was holding him up but riding is his light was great. Oh man, now I can see. We were side by side into the check before the rode crossing and were side by side for the next 1/4 mile or so and it was bitchen. I could see what was coming up and charge harder then I did all day! Then he edged me out and I was in the dust and had to wait for the white out to clear.
Came into the Pits and had to adjust the light. That thing was pointing at the moon! once we got it in the right spot it was great! Just outside of check 1 I highsided and gave myself a gnarly charlie horse and had to stretch it out for a second before I could start my bike. I kept charging just to stay ahead of the nxt 250s and was coming up on someone with a really crappy light. Oh, no it was Andy and something happened to his light. thats a bummer! Passed him into Jake's Canyon, Tried to yell at his dad that his light went out, got gas, and was off.
Everything went pretty smoothly until I was passing a Sled Rider on a KX something or other into a rocky canyon, charged through the rocks a little too hard and got bucked over the handle bars and onto my head. The guy didnt even slow down or ask if I was okay or anything. I had a few explatives for him got up and my light was broken off the forks! SUCK! rode as best I could to the next check (I think it was check one) and yelled "you guys got any duct tape!?" I spent about 3 minutes taping the thing back on and went back out.
When i fell I smashed my arm pretty good and it was getting really hard to come in. Every Check I'd ask, "what lap are we on?" and "ARE YOU SERIOUS!" by the end of lap 6 it was getting really hard to see and my eyes were hurting from the strain of trying to see. Eveyone yelling to "GO GO GO!!!" was the best motivation I had to finish.
Came in 6th overall and 1st 250 Ex. MY 1ST D37 EXPERT 1ST!!! I will take it anyway I can get it!!!
IN CONCLUSION!!! The course was pretty awesome aside from the screwy start and a few spotty marking here and there but its a night race, what can you do? All the Checks were fun and had good set ups, expecially the check before the road and Jake's Canyon. The Endurocross section was pretty cool. THANKS TO MY DAD!!! for helping my with everything and driving out there and driving back. Thanks to Steve Argubright for letting me borrow the helmet light. Thanks to check 1 for the duct tape! a big NO THANKS to the Sled Rider guy, Karma sucks dude. (unless it was my karma, then I had it coming) I DEFINATELY CANT WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!!! more clubs seem interested and I'll really need to get a better light set up!!!
A BIG THANKS TO 100s MC FOR STEPPING UP!!! Ryan Sanders and Tommy Russull andthe Argubrights and all the 100s guys/gals did a great job!!!
SEE YOU AT IN THE DESERT!!

HAD A GREAT TIME!!! got out there friday night and dialed in the bike for Trevor and I until about midnight. Got up at 6am to keep workin on it. FMF, DIRTDIGITS, and SCOTTS PERFORMANCE hooked us up and the bike looked SHARP!!! besides the damper, graphics and pipe the thing was completely stock! stock light and everything!
Watched Trevor start in his first expert run and was at the tail end of the pack but right with them (I know it was the bike because we've been flat out across the valley side-by-side before and he can hang!) Watched Mikey and Matt or Max eddy come through about ten minutes before everyone and then got ready.
Andy came through and just under three minutes behind we came in second! hopped on the bike - no gas, just wrist band - and charged out into the desert. Had a pretty uneventful ride until I accidently pulled my niterider out of the socket out of check two and got to ride with just the stock 35 watt light all the way to check 3! it actually worked great!
That bike handled through the rocks like no other! i was able to charge as hard as I could chasing someone down thinking "that looks like Andy's riding style" and just before I passed the guy her comes Andy right up beside me "WOO HOO!!!" what the hell? so I chased him down but couldn't keep pace (we had stock gearing and his 250x was ready for the desert!) I'd hit fifth gear and just think "Are you kidding?"
Came up behind Baskin on the big down hill and took a very "creative" line through the gnarlier rocks, passed him, then he passed me right back when I hit a huge water fall cliff thing but kept going. Gave Trevor the bike about a minute down from Andy and he brought it back about 10 seconds closer.
I hopped on again and passed Andy in the pits. Then I made the worst mistake of the whole night. as I was going by I yelled "woo hoo!!!" to him in the pits!!! they had no idea it was me or that I was that close or that I was passing until I did that! I brain farted and just did what I normally do in any race, but in a night race stealth is your friend.
Pulled in behind Phiffer and let him go thinking he would pull away but I stayed right with him and when we hit the silt after check one I got lost and went off the trail through a bunch of bushes into a ravine and out again and there goes Andy. I wiped off my niterider in the dust and as I did I noticed that without it I could see almost perfectly in the dust with the stock light! so I turned it off and chased Andy all the way into check 2.
"Stop... okay whats the number, uh huh, okay... Are you feeling alright? you doin okay?" ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! I got outta there and chased Andy like a bat outta hell and watched as he passed Phiffer who was messin with his helmet light or something but right when I got on his back tire he picked it up again and I was in his dust all over again.
Long story short, got around Phiffer and a few other riders and lappers and made it into the finish about a minute behind Andy, 10 seconds ahead of Penhall. 2nd 250 Expert and 6th overall. Trevor really stepped it up! we had almost identicle lap times! 47's all the way.
The course was pretty fun, a little rough and silty but thats barstow. the markings were a little sparse in some spots and I lost it about 6 times before check 3. But all in all great job!
a BIG Thanks to everyone! the Pace's, Scotts Perfomance, FMF, Dirtdigits, my dad, the watson's, the Cuadill's (spelling?), all the people cheering, Prairie Dogs, and everyone who braved the heat to race and spectate!

welp. we had our two clinics on saturday. both went really well. first one had some young riders in it. Ryan Lazar went up a huge hill he was really scared of! Ended up 3rd in the 4th kids race that afternoon. the second clinic was significantly harder and we rode some awesome trails (or atleast made some!) everyone was great and seemed to have a great time! we were able to raise 950$ for IRRC and Rescue 3 ($475 for each) THANKS EVERYONE!!
watched the first race. Dakota got the holeshot! clinic kids doin awesome! lookin good in Oneal I might add. Took some video and got ready for race two. squeezed right inbetween Brad Pace and Danny Modica and got ready for the flag.
10AM on the dot the flag flew and Burson (starting on our row since he was the only PRO in attendance) got the instant holeshot, Phil Zackirson was right on his tail in his first expert start with myself hot on their tials! Burson crossed infront of Phil and he had to slam on the brakes letting me fly by on my single track to the right. When the Trails came together I narrowly missed t-boning Burson and then he was OFF!!!
Followed in Burson's dust for about 2 miles until he finally settled into his normal faster-then-hell-pace and I had clean air for the next two laps. Into Check 3 I made a quick glance to the left and saw Colton Sanders in the same spot on the hill as the last lap "gotta keep my pace up!" pulled into the Pits got gas and some water and pulled out just behind Brad Pace "wheres Colton? oh well gotta catch brad!"
He took a quick glance back and laid it on! This is when the fun started! we were criss-crossing lines everywhere! I was trying to stay out of his dust and he was trying to get away. Our trails came together with no where else to go just before check two and I had to slow down behind his dust. "alright, I'll just stay close enough to get him when he pits" but he was pullin out all the stops. He pit and I couldn't get him. he pulled in the same distance as before.
I just put in some good laps and tried to keep him in view but it was really tough with the Lappers. Saw Colton off te side of the trail, latter found out a rock broke his pet-cock off, bummer. Paul Krause pulled up behind me and I let him by since he had caught me from a row behind. Once he got around me I latched onto him to try and catch Brad. I was able to pull right up along side him in a couple sections and then he started looking down at his bike like something was wrong. Then he kept going. Then into check 2 he pulled off so I was outta there onto the road!
A lap or so later coming into the white flag I could hear a 4-stroke behind me and I figured it as PK again but it as Jason Parsons and he got around me right before the Jump in the hills right behind a lapper and I pulled off the trail to the right before the huge Silt whoop/wall/ditch thing and he hit it allowing me back by. We blasted past a Lapper side-by-side and came up behind another one and he pushed me into the lappers dust just before we passed all the spectators into the Chicane and got me.
I chased him for the rest of the lap to try to catch Brad but he was gone! Came into the finish 4th Overall and 2nd Open Expert, extending my points lead over Phil and maintaining it over Brad.
All in all a great weekend. Thanks Dave for putting together a great course. it was choppy as hell and beat to crap by the time we got to it but there were so many places to take little single tracks and pass and get outta the chop that it was great! Thanks to my dad for changin my tire and helping out with the clinic. Thanks to all the people cheering and wishing god luck and ofcourse to all my sponsors!!!
