Good news and bad news is the best way to put it. After a recent dyno and tuning to the race bike, Kevin`s 1998 Buell Lightening has been running better than ever especially after last weeks 1st Place Money Class win at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. The good news is on Saturday in Iowa, Kevin ran a blistering 11.32 second 1/4 mile run to place him 6th in qualifying amongst 35 other national drivers including last year`s national points champion. That was quite an accomplishment that we hoped would carry us into the next day of eliminations. Too bad a missed shift against a slower bike caused an early loss on Sunday that ended our day before we could get into the finals for the money run. But that`s racing. Regardless of the dissapointing end for the weekend, we experimented with new shifting patterns, rear end adjustments and began keeping better record of track elevation, track temperature and tire pressure in the attempt to chase consistency perfection. Luckily, Sunday`s loss seemed to have little effect on our 10th place national points standings after everything was over. We look forward to our next AHDRA National Event in Bristol, TN on August 13th with a determined focus place much higher on race day and remain in the top point standings in the AHDRA.
See you at the races,

Competing in the bi-weekly Harley Shoot-Out at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI, Kevin Winters and his Buell Lightening wins it all for the second time in 3 weeks! In 2004 Kevin was the Mid-West Harley Shootout points champion and has full intention of regaining that title for 2006. Last night`s win puts Kevin back in a solid second place in points for this local circuit. For more info on Great Lakes Dragaway, go to:

Taking momentum from last night`s win, Kevin readies himself for this weekend`s AHDRA S&S Midwest Nationals in Earlville, OH. When asked about how last nights win will carry into this weekend`s big AHDRA event, Kevin replied, "I like to use my local Great Lakes race events as a way to stay tuned and mentally sharp for the national AHDRA races and right now, my reaction times are good, the bike is running where it should be, so I`m pretty happy". Being that Winters Racing is currently 10th in national points in the AHDRA Screamin` Eagle Performance class, he has a lot to be happy about.

The outlook for this weekend`s AHDRA National is very good. The motor home is packed, we all tried to get some sleep last night after the big win and we are eager to go racing. For more on this weekend`s AHDRA event, got to:
