Overview

How I got started

Started when I was twelve at my local bike shop. I was so eager that I would just go into the shop three to four times a week and learn how to be a mechanic. The old shop manager was a retired pro mountain biker and he taught me everything I know about mountain bike racing. Now I compete as often as I can, but I am currently trying to get to some bigger races, just have to get the money to do so.

Goals for the Future

Train hard this winter and come in strong for the 2007 season. Save some money so I can travel to some higher profile races, I`d like to prove what I can really do against competition when I have no limits and when I am prepared.

Bio

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Oh, ya. Since I dont have trainers, I have a stack of training books that, when I am not on the bike I am reading and basically I am trying to self-coach. I am on the bike at least 5 times a week. Getting a variety of terrain in is important to me so I am prepared for all of it. I am a big fan of intervals and training with them has deffinately shown improvement. I love getting on the bike but I do understand the need for power and cross training, so when I do two a day workouts I often go to the gym or run.

Competitive Highlights

For the 2006 season I was planning on racing in the sport class, about half way through the season my results showed that I needed to move up. In the 2006 season I have 8 top five finishes, 6 of which were 1st places. For fall 2006 I am racing the expert class to better prepare myself for the upcomming racing year.
