Overview

How I got started

My Mom and Dad got me into the sport of hillclimbing in 1990, where I competed in a local hillclimb near Brigham city Ut. From there i held the number one plate in the 60, 80, 125, 250, and 500cc stock amateur classes. Now I ride a 160 horse power 100% nitro burning Yamaha XS 700 & 800 that my dad and I build completely custom from the ground up.

Goals for the Future

With companys like Racer X, Suzuki, and Lucas oil getting involved with our sport, hillclimbing is really starting to take off. For 2007 I plan on racing the Racer X, Suzuki, NAHA Pro hillclimb series, The Hillclimb Des Nations to be held in Switzerland, The East VS. West shootout held in Indiana, Poags Hole in dansville, New York which is the biggest eastern states race and draws over 10,000 spectators, a select few east coast hillclimbs, and there is major talk of our sport being involved with the X Games for 2007.

What inspires you to compete?

what inspires me to compete is the amount of hours and time that we put into our bikes and the sport of hillclimbing itself. Hillclimbing is a very unique sport and its finally starting to get the attention it has deserved for a very long time. My dad and I have spent pretty much my whole life building and bettering our equipment, trying to find the right combination of motor, frame, suspension set up, all of that we have been figuring out for a very long time. Running 100% nitro creates alot of servicing, motor rebuilding etc. So when your build a completely new bike, ship it over sea`s, and come home with a world championship. That is inspiration!

Why do you compete?

Hillclimbing has probably the most friendly atmosphere of any sport I have ever seen. Over the years I have met hundreds of people alot that are just like family to me. My family has been doing this for years and years, every race we travel to is just like another family vacation to me. I thank my family often for the experiances and opportunities that racing has brought us!
