I consider myself one of the lucky ones becauseI have found my calling at a young age after many years of turmoil. I have found my peace in triathlon and ultra running. After losing my father at a young age, I struggled to find my niche and myself in life. Now I feel as though everything had fallen into place. I have been competing in marathons, triathlons, and ultra marathons for about 2 years and I enjoy every minute of it.
It all began as a gentle tugging on my sleeve when I lived in Hawaii and I began running 5k's. As the time passed the pull to run and compete at a greater level became so strong I could not resist it; I ran my first marathon. After that I was hooked and began looking for another challenge. I quenched that thirst for the ultimate competition by becoming involved in full distance triathlons and ultra marathons.
I consider myself to be an ordinary guy that pushes himself to accomplish extraordinary things. When I am not competing in races I divert my passion to inspire today's youth as an 8th grade health teacher in Las Vegas. I tell the kids everyday that I practice what I teach; health is an important part of my life. I also started a running team for the students and we compete in local races through out the year. I believe that with this experience the students will gain self discpline and stay fit. I must say that most of the time the kids inspire me more than anything else. I love to run, and less than 100% is not an option.
