Guthrie's coming up can't wait to race again!!!

Wow, what a tough weekend! The competition in the 6I class was unbelievable. Jacob didn't qualify for a main all weekend. He tried his best, but those other boys had so much more experience. When you've only been intermediate for a few weeks, going up against other racers that have been intermediate for probably a year or more is challenging. Thankfully, Jacob took it all in stride and enjoyed himself. And the zipline at the park didn't hurt either :)

Jacob is so excited about his new State Champ backpack and number plate! He took his new backpack to school today, along with 3 stitches in his chin! Showers can be slippery boogers...

Jacob also took his first win as an Intermediate on Sunday at the state finals. We let him race under the assumption that he had to win on Sunday to get the backpack and number plate. That certainly put the fire in him!

I just got back from the Mile High Nationals in Dacono, CO. I took my 8th Novice win on Saturday (8/18) --- the trophy is taller than me! With this win, I moved up to Intermediate. My first Intermediate race was the next day (8/19). There were a total of 15 riders in the 6I class, so I had to first qualify for the semi round, which I did! Then from there, I had to qualify for the main, which I also did! Then a crash took me down early in the main... But that's alright with me, because coming in 8th in my first race as a 6I, let alone a NATIONAL race, was a totally great experience :)

With Mom and Dad's help, I have decided on my nickname: Jake The Snake! I hope to start using it at my next race. And, hopefully, I'll get my customized number plate this weekend in Omaha.
