Overview

How I got started

I was a track runner and swimmer in high school. After my first season of collegiate swimming and outdoor track I thought I would give triathlon a shot. I won the second race I entered and thought that perhaps with more than two weeks of training I could be pretty okay at this crazy sport.

Goals for the Future

World Cups everywhere from Japan to Spain, China and New Zealand. I want to improve my world ranking and I aim to not only qualify for the World Championships but to finish in the top 10.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

I love to push my body and my mind to places that I did not think I could go. I love to continually test my limits and to see just how good I can be. I like to win but in a lot of cases it doesn`t matter who I compete against because I am always in the biggest competition with myself.

Describe your style...

Well right now I am a label whore to Puma, TYR and Oakley... my sponsors. I would love to have my own clothing line someday and design jeans that actually fit people.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train all of the time. As a triathlete training is not only my profession but it is also a way of life for me. I train in my sleep, when I eat, when I relax and when I am actually in the pool, riding and running.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

On top of wanting to represent my country at the Olympic Games (at least once) I also want to be a role model for young women here and all over the world. I want to represent a healthy lifestyle and I want to promote the importance of education and an active lifestyle. I have also always wanted to have my own Milk Ad, be in Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Edition and to pursue acting when I am done being an athlete. I guess I tend to set my goals pretty high. :)

Schools Attended

I graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Psychology.
