My professional surfing career started in 1997. I learned the responsibilities of owning my own business. I also learned to have a complete understanding of my funds such as travel arrangements, travel fees, contest entries and taxes. I have had my business license since 1998 and have learned to keep my business organized and in order at all times. I have traveled to 6 different countries because of surfing and it has taught me to work hard and I can achieve my goals. I have been sponsored in surfing since I was 12 years old. Since then I have learned organizational skills and the importance of good behavior, how to be a roll model, to have good communication with my sponsors and most of all loyalty.
