What a storm today,,, Snowboarding,,here I come....:):):)
Finally going to get back into the thrills of speed..

my poor bike yesterday, it was crying to be ridden. So I did, 1 month out and I've got no stamina, I need a stationary bike, or something, before I get way outta shape. can't wait till I break out the snowboard.

This past weekend I raced the Mt. snow DH race, Not really sure what the exact title of the race is. Seems there was three series wrapped into 1 from what I can gather, but that's here nor there.
So with a dry practice Saturday and Sunday, it started to rain 20 minutes before the race kicked off, fog as thick as pea soup, with visibility an issue I opted to take it REAL slow in 2 sections. The first A rocky section that I found tricky dry, plus i dented my rims a couple times in practice there, so I slowed not wanting to flat and run a wet course on the rim. the next section was large flat rocks angled into the course, fast line dry but i didn't even look at the other lines so i had to slow way down kinda look at the section guess my line and bomb it.
Now with all that I figured I did the best I could without risking a DNF from crashing in the rocks.
lots of people DNF'd in the rocks from flat tires, this I never understood, Push the Stupid bike to the finish if you have to, A 20 place looks way better in my eyes than DNF, at least it shows you finished what you started. Now don't get me wrong I will never hold it against someone, but as for me I'm going out on a stretcher or I'm going to cross that finish line.

Just spent the sunday up @ Highland.
I was working on my corner speed for a handful of runs. I met up with a gruop from the Ashby Mass. area, we hooked up on some sick runs down Hellion. I've never jumped a bicycle so far before WOW, the first run was blind and i still carried enough speed to clear one of the step ups, and a couple tables. By the end of the day the only ones i didn't clear were in the middle of  a rythem section they were just to close( that's why it's called rythem) for me to time right. We also did one incredibly fast run down the easier trail off of fancy feast, I thought I was going to blow out a couple of the corners but amazingly me & my bike survived. the whole run was on the outer edges of my comfort zone.
I am hoping that this new found speed will stay with me at the Mt. snow bike fest coming up.

I have been hearing on weqx 102.7 a vermont/newyork radio staion that I get in keene,
an add for the race weekend.  so the Dj was talking and jokingly made the comment that us DH guys are brainless, crazy was what he meant,, I agrre with him. but anyway I called and we had a good chat told him that we all love to see the fans out cheering us on, the station has been giving out passes all week, so I'm hoping to see lots of riders, racers and fans out there.

Hey everyone,
just been busy riding and working, can't believe it's july already I did get my friend Mike into the downhill sport YA COOL, gave him my big hit to run untill he gets his own bike, you know the drill break it replace it terms, other than that I hope he rides it into the ground.
I've been to a few races not quite as many as I hoped mostly due to the economy, seems the only job security is when you punch out to go home you have a days pay at least next week.
How ever the races I've been to the Kenda series is a great series, and I ran the Pats peak downhill thrill, that one was a blast, rock drops into rock gardens, sick fast start section was awesome.
I had a guy Brian from wachusett brewing race team help me tune my suspension, feels strange but it holds lines better just got to get used to it, I ran over an earing and popped my tire sometime between my last practice and second race run,.
all in all was a great weekend, and I'm looking forward to the first gravity east race I can make at attitash.
with out the help from all the sponsors on this site, I know iI would not be quite as fast, it makes me want to show that yes I am worth the effort that these companies put in to helping out guys like me.
so lastly but definitely I want to thank all my sponsors, friends, fellow racers and all those people on the mountain watching and cheering us all on........THANKS.......... Andy

with the series kicking off in VA. on the 8th-9th of may, this will be a race that unfortunitly i will miss.
with the series being the best 8 of 11 races i'm hoping that i will be able to stay in the top ten at the end of the season.
it looks like i will also miss the nationals in CO. totally bummed but there is next year, hopefully it will be closer.
best of luck to all the racers this year, and I am hoping to see you all soon.

just got my Groove Race forks on the bike.
love the feel, so far I can not find any flex in them and I'm dropping off of 4-5 walls, corners like a dream. I never knew how much a difference a few pounds makes on the front end,,,,night and day compared to my shivers.
  thanks guys...Andy

I have just bought my first snowboard.
3rd time going boarding in 20 years, just started doing small and medium jumps, although it's a lot of fun I think it would be an absolute riot on my bike.
get out get lost have fun......and be safe

Wow, what a storm!
Now i have been around for a few years, well 35, and i have never seen a storm like this one we had.
I was lucky , and i lost power for a week, no heat, no lights, cold cold nights. Now to think there are still people with out power, I would like to thank all of the area people for helping with food, water, shelter, to all those that extended a hand in help thank you so much.
