Questions About Me in No Particular Order

Why do you like this sport?

Cycling is an awesome sport. Each year I get to meet new people and see new places. I enjoy knowing that I've earned what I work for. Cycling helps me get up each morning and gives me something to look forward to.

Some Personal Information About Me:

In the cycling world I am a 3 time national champion(2005-Track Omnium and Road Race, 2007-Track Omnium) and a 3 time PA Bar Champion(2005-Jr W 10-12, 2006-Jr W 13-14, 2008 Jr W 15-16). In the acedemic world I am a straight A student and earned a place in the Junior National Honor Society during the 2005-2006 school year. My favorite class is Science, and I particiate in Science Olympiad. I really enjoy reading and hanging out with friends.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

As almost every athlete wishes to become pro, I do as well. But, I also hope to go to college for Pre-Med and then head to medical school to become a surgeon

How did you begin in cycling?

I started out in the Pee Wee Pedalers Program at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome at the age of five. After completing the Pee Wee Pedalers Program I continued up the Air Products Program chain to the Youth Basic, Youth Advanced, and Bicyce Racing League. .

What volunteer work do you do for your community?

I volunteer in my school by working with Life Skills, and occasionally volunteer at the velodrome.

What are some future goals both long term and short term?

I hope to become a Cat 2 on the track and race Friday Nights this year. At nationals, I would like to win at least one more national jersey. Once I enter the Jr. W. 17-18 category I plan to make the Junior Worlds Team by winning several more national titles. Someday (whether it be tomorrow or when I'm 50) I would like to break the 2k TT national record on the track.

What is the biggest obstical you've had to overcome?

Last year (January '08) I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, which is an auto immune disease where having gluten (which is in wheat, barley, and malt to name a few) irritates the lining in the intestines so that a person cannot absorb the nutrients they need. They only cure is a diet change. It has been a big adjustment to redo my diet since so much of it since I am an athlete, knowing that I ate a lot of pasta. I am adjusting but its a challenge non the less.
