Galen O'Moore: 2009 Freeracer

Hi, my name is Galen O'Moore and I am 17. I am a Cat.1 USAC Junior Downhill Racer from Bellingham, Washington, USA. Having my home be in the most northwesternly area of the United States affords me a broad range of extremely technical terrain to train and ride on. I am a 4.0 GPA, AP, Honors student, and my devotion in the classroom carries over to the race track. For 2009, my main goal is to qualify for the USAC Junior National Downhill Team and subsequently become one of the youngest Pro downhill racers in the United States. As your sponsored rider I ensure your product will receive a high-level of exposure and be tested extensively on the toughest terrain in the world.

For 2009 I plan to compete in all of the pacific northwest Fluidride cups, select Canada Cups, National Downhill Championships in Sol Vista, Colorado and Whistler Crankworx. My schedule is intensely filled with training and racing in Bellingham, Washington, Vancouver, BC, as well as Whistler, BC, providing your company with unique exposure in the Pacific Northwest.

Racehorse Rally

A bunch of friends of mine set up a local downhill race at the North Fork, about 45 minutes east of Bellingham. It was wet and muddy and everyone had a good time. I ended up only getting one practice run and missing some crucial lines in my race run, resulting in a short snagger where I dislocated my shoulder. Hopped back on, pedaled it out, and took fourth. All in good fun. Later in the afternoon we got shuttled up to a new trail above Deadfall at about 4200 feet. 4 hours round trip. Definitely the best trail I have ever ridden.
