Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

I Think in life, for me, i need to have a sort of goal. Somthing to reach, something to work for. And something bhind that goal, so when you reach the goal, you make an other one ! And i think some goals in life are harder than other ones, AND some you reach, some you don't. But i guess that's competing !

Why do you like this sport?

I like karting, thats for sure, but the reason is that in Carsports, Karting is one of the most intensive and fastest diciplines. In shifterclass you get from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, AND in some situations you reach 190km/h and even more. I drove F3's , Sports cars and normal streetcars. NOTHING on 4 wheels handles like a kart, and gives you that awsome felling. You are all alone at 2cm's of the ground, in a poleyster seat and 4 5" wheels, no suspension, and an engine that produces between 45 and 50 hp..... on the karts'weight of 90kg....

Describe your style...

When i am behind the steeringwheel, inside i feel free, i get loose ! this are the moment i live for ! But on the outside, my style, and drivingstyle is rather calm. For myself i was learned that, from he beginning. Also, i do not like people handle a racing kart of car messing around on the track. BUT next to track, or on the road, that's something else !! ;)

How's Life Treating You?

For sure, i am lucky to be healthy ! I am happy to do what i like to do, thanks to my parents ! And hope i can make more of what i have started already ! If you want to be happy in life, you need to do, what you like to do, otherwise, it wont work ...

So Oval hey? Nice, never seen it before, cause it doesn not excist in Europe. I heard the spead in oval karting can get very high!
Some of the European Engine brands (ItalSistem) did it once, they put 2 ICA engines on a chassis and hittet the oval with 270km/h SUPER dangerous, but still cool, haha
I'll check your profile soon

Ciao, Kristof

No never been their... and i think we do not have to race there in 2010, as far as our calander is ready and fully comfirmd !

But i think i heard of it... is it in the north? or the south of the UK ?

Anyway you should come to Belgium, the new Genk track here is SOOO smooth.. very difficult cornering, low speeds AND high speed- corners, EVERYTHING, for sure !

Around next month i put some onboard vid's from myself here!

Ciao, Kristof

  Hi Ryan !

Indeed on the pic you see a KF2, as i was setting up, and tuning, and testing that engine vor 1 of my drivers. I am close with IAME parilla,
and we get very good support fromtham, and for KF2 at this moment it is the best engine for sure... I rent some engines to big teams, and they drive in the top so..

About the diff between a X30/Lepard and a KF is just that the X30/Leopard is more simple designed, and produces about 32 hp..
the KF engines (KF3,,2,1) produces 38-39 hp... as they have a power valve, faster cylinder, more developed piston, and so on and so on...
Here in Belgium and the rest of Europe we use the Leopard or X30 for IAME cups and hobby, but is perfect to learn before you get into KF.

Myself i excually drive the KZ2 and KZ1... i've been driver less, the few last months/years because of i put investments in my team... and time and energy ofcourse... but now i'm going to be back in racing myself...

Anyway, i am not going to make this reply tooooo loooong.. haha

Keep up the good work !' (and, iff any questions comes up, just tell me)

Ciao, Kristof
