Well after nearly 2 years under development FiberwerX Racing debuted our brand new 2006 Ford Ranger Class 7 at MDRs 2006 New Years Eve Dunaway Dash 300. Running strong all day with a fast pace and average speed of 48 mph we took a class victory in the new trucks very 1st race. Even more impressive FiberwerX Racing was able to keep pace with the overall winner and fastest cars for over 5 laps till a mechanical failure in the rear differential took us out of 4th overall position and set us back to 15th overall out of nearly 150 total entries. After swapping third members with another FiberwerX team truck right on the course, we were able to continue the race. We were awarded the fastest lap for our efforts on the sixth time around for the final lap.
Before we can even kick back and chill out for a few days, we have our sights set on conquering the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge. Only two weeks away we plan on doing a full prep and detail to prepare for the weeks events, which for us also includes the “SEMA” style Off Road Impact Show taking place at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas on January 16-19th. We will be pulling our vehicle out on Thursday night to head to Laughlin and participate at SCOREs Tech and Contingency Program on Friday the 19th.
The Following two days will be filled with 7 divisions of intense offroad action from over 200 different entries and will attract nearly 30,000 offroad enthusiast and fans. This event is filmed for national TV, and is the first race in the SCORE series. Highlights include the Laughlin Leap and Pit Crew competition for $26,000 in prize money, a huge SCOREVISION big screen on the infield to replay highlights and show racing action along the 6-mile track and offering a purse of over $300,000.
Thanks to all our sponsors, volunteers and race partners for the their dedication and support of Team FiberwerX. Look For us on the podium at the 2007 Laughlin Desert Challenge
