Over the weekend Jason McNeil proved he has what it takes to pilot a 750 HP unlimited vehicle. Racing around a very tight and technical course at the 2008 CODE Jacume ORW 120 that is better suited for a 10 car or 1600 buggy, Jason performed lap after lap with finesse and natural talent. Reaching speeds of 118 mph and going bigger then every other competitor, the spectators and crowds were thrilled as the #50 TT flew by.
The FiberwerX Team worked hard to secure as much seat time & experience in the new race truck, however business always has taken precedence over racing. We showed up late Friday night, too late to prerun. Jason was forced to start this event with no prerun, no GPS map, and maybe two hours of seat time in the #50 FiberwerX Trophy Truck.
Starting 5th off the line due to an inverted drawing order we were chasing down cars right from the start. The Oroway TT was passed at MM#4. Another dust trail was soon visible as the truck was coming up on the Affordable Rain Gutters Class 1 Car. Before we could overtake the next car the #50TT stalled out. Jason was able to fire the truck up and keep moving, but the electrical gremlin plagued the #50TT all of lap 1 and the truck kept stalling out at least 4x. Jason and co driver Nik Kraus were able to determine it was an ignition problem and relayed the scenario back to the team mechanic JuanCO.
When the truck arrived in the pit JuanCO quickly diagnosed the problem & corrected the issue. The #50 was down about 25 minutes at this point and was out of contention for a Heat 1 Victory. Jason pushed himself and the truck as they flew through laps two and three. By the end of the final lap the FiberwerX 50 passed the Class 1 Racing Car and then the Affordable Rain Gutters Class 1 Car placing 3rd in Heat 1 out of 7 entries.
Between the two heat races, Team FiberwerX was lucky enough to visit “Big Jim’s” Jacume Ranchero up in the hills above the local town. Nothing beats a swimming pool, BBQ, and ice cold Cerveza’s on race day when it is 95 degrees out. BIG THANKS to Jim!
After the refreshing break, Heat #2 started right on time like clock work as usual with any CODE Event. Jason started 1st , we were scheduled to start 2nd but the 1st heat took out the 1 car in front of us. The clean air allowed the #50 to stretch its legs and let the Ford’s ponies loose. Jason nailed lap after lap averaging 25 minutes lap times around the 21.5 mile course. 118 mph was the top speed reached in a fast 3-mile straightaway out in the west section of the course. Setting the fastest lap time of the day and finishing 1st overall in Heat #2, Jason was pumped after crossing the finish line. “We finished this 2nd race in 1 hour and 15 minutes, two minutes ahead of the next fastest time. I feel really good and my new truck held together great. I cannot wait to get the FiberwerX #50 Trophy Truck 100% dialed in so we can show everyone what we are about at the SCORE Primm Race.”
The FiberwerX Crew is made up of friends and family and without their dedicated support we could not enjoy success or the excitement of offroad racing.
FiberwerX Racing is a professional offroad race team that competes in SCORE, BITD, CODE, and MDR. Mexacali Mexico January 12th 2008
FiberwerX Racing's Jason McNeil and Co-Driver Jason Rodriguez along with the rest of the crew headed to night club in the heart of Mexacali's down town and party section of town.
The Team was in good spirits, and were looking forward to the awards ceremony. With good reason too.
The Class 7 battle for 2007 was extremely fierce during the 6 race series. More competitors and better built vehicles then CODE has ever seen, FiberwerX Racing and Jason McNeil piloted the FX-7 Ranger to 3 1st place finishes and two podium positions. Although we opted to not race the CODE Mexican Logistics 300 due to conflicting schedule with the SCORE Baja 250 we earned enough points to edge out the 2nd place overall season points winner for the 2007 CODE Class 7Open Championship.
Way to go FiberwerX Racing!
Thanks to all our Team Partners: Toyo Tires, Fox Racing Shox, Light Force, DJ Safety, and JuanCO Performance.
We Would Also like to welcome SPY Optics and Torco Race Fuels.

Expect a new FiberwerX.com website, catalog, and dealers package in the following months.

FiberwerX Racing has tasted both victory and defeat during the 2007 season. Ultimate highs were experienced during and overall win at the CODE San Louis 250, several SCORE DNFs were nearly redeemed at the SCORE Las Vegas Terribles Cup III by Jason McNeil dominating 3 out of 4 heats and then ultimately wrecking out during the final round. After a long day at the recent Mexican Logistics 300 Jason reported, “We were able to finish today and secure a few solid points. We still have a great shot and are going for the Class Championship.”
For 2008, the team is excited to add the #50 Trophy Truck to the team. Seat time and extensive testing is on the schedule to bring Jason up to speed on the new Trophy Truck platform. FiberwerX Racing : 2007 SCORE Las Vegas Terribles Cup3
This event was bitter sweet for the FiberwerX Crew. Overcoming adversity and setback after setback, our crew raced to the top of the podium during 3 of 4 heats at the Terribles Cup3.
Many of the offroad industries finest collected in Las Vegas and battled July ‘s
triple digit summer temperatures. FiberwerX arrived at the Las Vegas Speedway at 8:00am after an all night drive and entered the 2007 Class 7Open Ranger as 709 in a field of 12.
The team, prepped and primed for action, felt confident after one practice session that our truck would take the podium during the heat races later in the evening.
Working with Toyo Tires and their technical advisors we were able to sample a variety of tire combinations to find the best package for the course conditions. Jason McNeil explained how the Toyo Open Country M/T provided superior traction around the slick muddy track.
During the 1st heat and after some confusion in staging, Jason was able to maneuver the truck from the last starting position all the way up to 4th in less than 1 lap. By the end of lap 2 the FiberwerX truck was jockeying for the lead positions.
Broc Ross and Barry Karakas were extremely fast and provided for great competition all throughout the weekend. Jason McNeil would battle for the lead with both and eventually found his way to 1st showing his opposition plenty of pressure and driving through the rough lines with finesse and speed.
After breaking clean air and no traffic McNeil extended his lead for the remaining laps to a checkered flag and a 1st place finish.
This story would repeat itself once more that night for the second heat with the same results. Again on Saturday night we killed the competition and made our way to a 1st place finish. Unfortunately, a rival in the same class felt his mistake would justify complaining to the tech officials. Long story short FiberwerX along with half the field was Disqualified and we were stripped of the 3rd heat victory.
A brief adjustment during the 1 hour down time between heats, the FiberwerX truck was now eligible to compete in the 4th and main event. Starting from the back of the field had become routine and Jason was able to pilot his truck through the traffic and make his way to the front with only two vehicles in the way of another podium finish. Broc Ross had a powerful truck and screamed off the line, he seemed unmatchable but it was all for nothing as he had been DQ at the start. Barry Karakas and Jason were battling it out for the “lead” when McNeil went for the pass and made it clean. Unfortunately flying off a jump on the back stretch at near top speeds, the truck hit a rut and sucked the suspension under causing the truck to barrel roll and flip 3 and a half times. Landing on the side, oil spilled out of the breather on the exhaust down tubes bursting into flames.
Crew Chief JuanCO acting as the spotter immediately warned the driver and co driver to exit the vehicle. The flames were extinguished by a track official, but our weekend was done.
It was an exciting weekend for the entire team. We expected to do well even though our truck was underpowered compared to the rest of our main competition.
Jason McNeil impressed the crowd with his amazing driving skills. The Toyo Tires performed flawlessly and provided dominant traction all weekend. The Fox Shoxs allowed us to fly by the competition while they were breaking for the rougher technical sections. Rockstar Energy kept our crew vigilant and pumped even through several all nighters. The KMC Wheels held all integrity keeping our tires locked on even though we were running low air pressure for a wide footprint. The Light Force XGTs held their own in the wreck and gained a lot of attention from the announcers making it easy to spot the fastest truck in our class. Most importantly the DJ Safety components worked perfectly keeping our drivers safe and secure in a very violent crash that could have had a much different outcome.
Thanks for everyone’s support. It is truly a team effort and you can count on FiberwerX to put on the show at PRIMM.
Check our profile and myspace for all the pics.

Ready for redemption and striving to achieve a victory in the upcoming SCORE Baja 500, Team FiberwerX set out to pull double duty in Baja Offroad Racing. What better way to confirm our capabilities of the vehicle and crew then to enter two races with in 3 weeks.
The CODE Laguna Salada 210 Night Race seemed like a perfect scenario to condition the team for Baja Racing after dark. As a seasoned professional offroad racing team, this is not a new experience for FiberwerX Racing, but to push at a 100% competitive level this requires running multiple tests in near similar race circumstances in the new FiberwerX Flagship Ranger. Persistence, dedication, and a thoroughly prepped race truck were the keys to our victory during this event.
Our luck seemed to have run out right from the start. During the initial prerun Driver Jason McNeil and onboard Mechanic Juan Apalategui noticed the transmission began to neutralize and slip out of gear. After a quick diagnosis Juan was able to determine the Transmission pump had failed. Always expecting the unexpected the FiberwerX Team had pre-planned to meet up with our other chase crew before the race. A spare JuanCO C4 Transmission was among the gear and equipment they were hauling.
After recovering the race vehicle from the middle of the Laguna Salada Desert and with a spare transmission in route, the FiberwerX team began to tear down the truck for pre race inspection and to swap out transmissions. With the clock ticking and the late afternoon heat bearing down it was non stop hard work and commitment from every team member to get the FiberwerX Race Ranger back up and running a 100% before the start of the race.
The sun setting and the surrounding dessert quickly becoming a much more unforgiving situation, the green flag was waved at 7:05 p.m. Starting 12th off the line and 2nd in a class of 8, it was a full throttle battle. We knew that we had to make it to the front to get the clean air and set the fast pace to achieve a podium finish. By race mile 5 Jason
McNeil had chased down and passed two 12 cars and 701 by splitting the distance and cutting right through the middle all in one pass. We then overtook a class 10 at around mile 20. From there, it was clean sailing around the rest of the 70 mile course. Co-Driver Nik Krauss announced over the radio that they were going to continue around without stopping till lap 3 which was consistent with our pre-planned race strategy.
Negotiating the tight rocky course during our second time around we had estimated our ranking as 2nd overall physically and by time. Traveling around 85 mph through a rock bed one of out extremely durable Toyo Tires suffered a sidewall puncture.
While changing tires, several 1600 cars in a close 3 way race passed by.
Back up to speed, we now how to navigate our way through the thick dust. Fortunately out LightForce Strikers and XGTs were equipped with several yellow tinted spot/beam combo filters which made the drivers task of safely piloting the vehicle through the dusty fog much easier. Although once back in the race while passing through the dust trail of a 1600 car we plowed through an pucker bush which resulted in a hole in the radiator. JuanCO swiftly plugged the leak and were once again quickly on the their way to make the scheduled pit stop at the beginning of lap three. The FiberwerX team was in radio communication throughout all our mobile pits, the FiberwerX main pit, and the FiberwerX Race truck. The crew tracked them coming in and were ready for a 20 gallon splash of fuel, quick visual inspection of the race car, provide the driver, and co-drivers some refreshing Rockstars and water then sent them back on their way to a well deserved 5th overall victory and dominating class win.
FiberwerX is extremely grateful to all our FiberwerX Team Partners, families, friends, and fans.
The 37" Toyo Open Country M/T Tires are extremely durable. Everyone on the crew is impressed at how the same tires we run on all FiberwerX Team Vehicles are of the same tires models we run on our race vehicle through the rugged dessert for hundreds of miles at a time. Comparing our one flat to a competing team running BFG Projects who suffered from 4 flats in a 210 mile race seems like a pretty significant advantage if you ask either team.
The KMC Enduro Beadlock Wheels once again took a severe beating and kept us rolling straight with no issues what so ever.
The Fox Shoxs kept the FiberwerX Race Vehicle running smooth and comfortable all night long. Jason McNeil made several comments about not even hesitating to hit the sections that were marked by the double down caution arrows at full speed knowing that his truck would fly right through the rough.
Fully confident that our crew is outfitted with the best safety equipment available allows us to run at 100% . DJ Safety is a class act and provides the essential gear and equipment so that FiberwerX Racing can safely compete in offroad motorsports.
Making a last minute order across the Pacific Ocean to Light Force is not even an issue. We had our package of very necessary Light Force Lightning equipment on Friday with ample time to install the new gear. The new handheld Enforcer Spotlight is extremely versatile and simply amazing in form and function.

Hey Everybody, Make sure to come check out the onboard video i posted up on the FiberwerX Team Profile.
The Race is the CODE San Louis 300, located in Mexico near Mexiacali and the Yuma AZ border.
The course featured 3 laps of 100 miles a piece. The terrains was mostly sand and wash with alot of straighaways and some giant launchers where we caught major air.
We easily took 1st place in our class division as well as beating out over 150 other competitors for the overall victory. This is unprecidented for a class 7 to win overall and has not been accomplished in over 15 years. For a full race report, check our other blogs.

FiberwerX Racing just returned from a trip to Mexico. We entered our primary 7open Ranger in the CODE San Louis 250. Looking for some seat time, confirm our estimated top speeds, and to put a few race miles on the vehicle before the SCORE San Felipe 250 taking place on March 9-11 2007, FiberwerX cruised to an impressive OVERALL VICTORY beating out nearly 100 entries.
The crew arrived to the CODE contingency located in down town San Louis, Sonora Mexico on the Friday night before race day. After rolling through tech registration and passing a few cases of ice cold Rockstars out to the race fans, locals, Tecate Girls and our competitors, we took off to set up our main pit near mile marker 85.
In a barren and very dark desert and only a few hours to get some rest and prerun the course, Jason McNeil and Co-Driver Nik Krous hauled *** around the un-familiar track to plot the course on the GPS. The Light Force 170 STRIKERs lit up the dessert and were able to guide our vehicle back to the pit for some well-deserved sleep.
The 1st four wheeled vehicle took off from the start finish at 10:00am. FiberwerX Racing entered as 708 started 17th off the line. By the end of lap 1 the truck had moved up to 3rd position overall. When co-driver Nik Krous announced they were 30 seconds out from the main pit, the crew jumped into place for a 10-gallon splash of TORCO 110 Racing Fuel, and double co-driver swapped. Leaving the pit we discovered 2nd gear had burned up. JuanCO advised Jason to keep the truck moving and continue the pace.
Laps 2 and 3 quickly were over and according to the CODE official time sheet, 708 was only running 10 minutes behind the fast lap of the class, which was recorded as 1 hour 26 minutes and set by FiberwerX Racing on lap 1.
FiberwerX Racing crossed the finish line on lap 3 in 1st overall position by time. The Socko class 1 Chenoweth crossed for 2nd overall 2 minutes behind FiberwerX.
We have our sites set on the grueling SCORE San Felipe 250. FiberwerX is now preparing to again dominate Baja.
Thanks to all the FiberwerX Racing Team Partners. Rockstar, for energizing the crew members and race fans. Fox Shoxs, for keeping the trucks enormous 37” tires planted in the dessert sand grabbing for traction. Light Force, for making the most powerful performance lighting systems available. KMC Wheels for making the strongest wheels to conquer any terrain. DJ Safety, for keeping our driver and co-drivers secure and in place to control the racecar. JuanCO Performance Engineering, for making an incredibly powerful vehicle. Thanks to every one else that supports our team and cheers us on.
