How did you get started?
I grew up in a surfing family. My grandparents were the owners of the retro surf company, Rick Surfboards. Both of my brothers surfed and I always wanted to be like them. Actually the first time I "surfed" was behind a boat in Northern California, but thats completely different. So one day in 5th grade I grabbed our 7'6" Becker and taught myself how to surf.I fell in love with it and have been surfing ever since.
List your competitive highlights:
I am currently on the #1 Girls Shortboard team in the state of California. We competed in the ISF High School Championships and ended up defeating some top surfers such as Kaleigh Gilchrist and many other great surfers.

I just placed 3rd overall at the Hello Kitty Boardfest in Huntington Beach out of over 30 girls. I am ranked 2nd in all of the South Bay for longboard and 6th for shorboard. During the winter I compete weekly in school contests as well as other local contests.
What are you planning for next season?
To grow in my surfing abiliities and promote my sponsors as much as I can, but most importantly have fun surfing!
Also, I am on the Varsity Track and Field team for my High School when the competition season is over for surf. I run sprints, anything from a lap (400m) to the 100m. And I Pole Vault as well. Currently I am in the top five in the history of the school for girl's vaulting!
Also, try to spread the word of God's love to the people I surf with!
What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Thanks for adding me. I am 8 and learning to surf. My dad surfs at El Porto so that is where I am learning. The feeling of being on the board is very freeing! |
