I started riding and racing three 5 yrs ago, and I have been addicted ever since. This is my 5th race season and it has been extremely successful. In 2007 I have had the chance to travel to larger events and podiumed at every race. In early 2005 I had the opportunity to meet April Lawyer, and Sven and Anka Martin at a local Oregon race. This meeting has proved invaluable to my riding skills and my sponsorship knowledge. Since then I have purchased both Anka’s 2005 prototype DHR and prototype 4 cross. For the last two years I have been attending college and working towards my Masters in Sports Marketing. My college experience gives me the tools I need to succeed as a sponsored athlete, and as a representative of your company. Prior to this I worked as a Bike Mechanic/Sales Representative for two years at Hutch’s Bicycle in Springfield, OR. Working on the other side of the biking industry taught me how to relate to companies, and communicate effectively to management. I also gained hands on experience as a mechanic, and I am proud to say I was the only female mechanic in the city!
Goals for the Future
My goals for next season are to make a comeback from my college hiatus and place in the top three in the expert category at all races, and excel at a local and national level. I dominated the sport class in 2006, and I hope to do the same in the expert class in 2010. I would like to volunteer more with the Black Rock Free Ride Association, and continue my volunteer work within the biking community. I would also like to work more directly with my sponsors and promote their product at each event I work. Lastly, I hope to get my photography published in Decline magazine. .
