Hey, my name is Erik. I have been in sports my whole life and around 13 or 14 I started to get my interest (passion is more like it) for board sports. I started out snowboarding a skateboarding around the same time. I just started skateboarding to keep me in shape for snowboarding in the off season but soon fell in love with it after I started skating parks and vert ramps. My second season snowboarding I started to do competitions in the USASA Edge of World Series and really enjoyed it. The next year I did contest again and had a really good year. I placed 1st overall for boardercross and 4th overall for slopestyle in my age group 16-17. That qualified me for Nationals but I was unable to go because of school (SAT's). That summer I picked up wakeboarding and I was crazy about that as well. The next year I was sure I was going to go to Nationals but I got injured a week before my first contest which put me out most of the season. The following summer I got back on the wakeboard and really got into it. That fall I joined the UNCW Wakeboard Club/Team but was injured again later that fall and had surgery right after New Years. I did however manage to get a few days on the mountain literally right before surgery. Now after surgery I got right back to it. It was a little slow at the start. My first yr back snowboarding was slow but I was still progressing. Last year howevery took me to new heights, literally, I started boosting. I was progressing and putting some style on it to. Wakeboarding was a little slower in the progression but its been getting faster and I am learning a lot. I learned 3 new tricks in one set and almost got a 4th in it. Now this year I have gone past where I was in my snowboarding and now I am progressing and getting better everytime I ride. So I am looking forward to getting back into the competition scene and just continuing to progress.
