MOTOCROSS

What inspires you to compete?

The competition. I really love to compete in everything that I do, whether it's racing, other sports, video games and even my job. Nothing compares to racing motocross though. The adrenaline, the smell, the dirt, the sweat, the color, it's the best. My life would be incomplete if it weren't for racing motocross.

MOTOCROSS

How did you get started?

After I got out of Desert Storm in 1991 I pursued racing motocross at an amateur level in Wisconsin. I've been racing for 16 years now and at the age of 39 I feel that I've accomplished alot of goals along the way. Winning races is one thing, being apart of the great family of motocross is another. Nothing beats this sport.

List your competitive highlights

I won my first race in 2003 and I really cherish that. I won a few more in the next couple of years here and there but winning at a track here in Denmark, Wisconsin in 2005 topped it all off. I had probably raced close to 200 motos there before I finally won. I won a few classes in the Northern Cup Motocross Series in 2005. Then in 2007, I finally got a big overall at Denmark by going 2-1 in the Vet +30B class. I had a horrible start in the first moto but passed 19 guys to get 2nd. The second moto I had a second place start and took over the lead one lap into it and never looked back. To this day, it's the biggest accomplishment I've had in racing motocross. I had dedicated the second moto to my friend Randy Schneider who had passed away days prior to the race, Godspeed Randy.

What are you planning for next season?

I plan on racing 20-25 times next summer and I will probably race a few different tracks too. I have Mount Carroll, Illinois on the list a few times as well as Red Bud, Michigan and Millville, Minnesota. I have about 12-15 events picked out here in Wisconsin to race but I really enjoy traveling out of state to better tracks. I would like to prepare myself for the +40 class in 2008. I feel that I will be on top of my game in 2008 and I'm really looking forward to turning 40 as I feel like I'm 25 again.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

WINNING!!! No doubt about it.
