Overview

How I got started

I`ve been racing competitively since 1992 since returning from Desert Storm. I got involved with my local club as a reporter and have broadened my skills throughout the years with Cycle USA and Cycle News as well as my website, www.imagesbyemme.com. I have progressed at a steady level with racing and I`m ready to make the transition to the A class in 2008. Motocross is my life and it is the GREATEST sport on this planet.

Goals for the Future

My goals are to advance to the +30A class as well as to try and qualify for the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championships in 2008. I will be racing several arenacross events this winter to prepare myself and my racing program for 2007 to compete again in the midwest.  I also plan on racing the Racer X Senior Series in 2007 and hoping for a top 10 overall finish in the +35B division.

Some Personal Information About Me:

Motocross is my life! I`ve tried them all, stick and ball sports, four wheels, etc. NOTHING compares to the adrenaline rush when you`re sitting on the line with 30 other bikes waiting for the gate to drop. Motocross is the best, period. I`m immensely involved at a local and national level with motocross, whether it`s racing or race reporting/photography, I`m there and will continue to support the sport I love. I`m very much a family man too, my wife and two girls support our racing program througout the year and we hope one of our children will follow the same path that I have.

Describe your style...

I`ve always been a smooth rider, never out of control. I`ve learned to mimic the pros and conduct my style according to the best in the business. I would have to say the Chad Reed and Kevin Windham have the best style out there. I try to position my body and focus my mind on riding like they do. Others have also mentioned this to me before.

Why do you compete?

I compete because it is my nature. Nothing compared to motocross when the adrenaline is running. I may get injured here and there, but I never give up in this sport. I`ve played all of the stick and ball sports but when I discovered motocross and how the racing is so competitive, I just couldn`t do anything else. I love this sport. What else is there to do.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I`m 39 right now, am I grown up yet? My motto is, growing old is mandatory but growing up is an option.

How's Life Treating You?

Could be better. I was sidelined for a month with a back injury, really deep contusion and swelling. I haven`t given up. My first race back was this past Sunday and I pulled four holeshots and finished 2nd and 5th the Vet B and +25 classes. I ended up winning the Masters +25 class this year in the Northern Cup Motocross Series. Also, I work TOO MUCH!!!!!
