Why do you like this sport?
I like this sport because it rewards those with dedication. You can't slack off for a second in training, or in a race for that matter. If you train hard and remain dedicated you'll get the results that you want.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I am planning on pursuing a career in business. I've taken business classes all through high school. Future Business Leaders of America has really helped me solidify my interest in this field. I am very involved in the organization, I am the secretary of my school's chapter and the vice president of my region.
Music?
I LOVE music. I listen to it 24/7. I'm into acoustic, alternative, emo, rock, pop rock, and punk.
Q&A - Competition
How did you get started?
My family lives very close to the Lehigh Valley Velodrome and we always see cyclists on the road. When I was little I used to think they looked really cool, but that bikes were kind of scary. My brother did an Air Products class atthe velodrome and he had alot of fun. So I decided I should give it a shot, and I had a blast. The next year I got my own bike and started racing at every opportunity.
List your competitive highlights
Two of my highlights are making it to Friday Night Pro Racing at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome in my first season of track racing, which was last year. This year I also got 3rd in the 15-16 National Criterium at Seven Springs.
What are you planning for next season?
I'm planning on making 2008 my biggest season yet. I hope to improve my road racing and medal in the road race and crit at nationals. I'm going to focus on my pursuit, points race, and scratch race for track nationals next year in hopes of making the Junior Worlds Team and going to South Africa. If that doesn't work out for me, I am planning a trip to Europe with my team to experience European racing. I'm also going to attempt to qualify for Elite Track Nationals. Of course I will also be doing local road races and the Professional race series at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome.
