The boys and I started racing a new winter series called the Snowman Series(dangitscold.com). At the first race Jordan placed 1st in the beginner class on his new YZ125, Logan placed 2nd in the 65A class and I placed 1st in the +30 Inter. class on my new KLX450R. Not to bad for the first race and  all of us moving up in class and on new bikes. The race that was scheduled for Dec. was canceled due to an ice storm. There was just to many trees and branches on the course to have it. That brings us to the one for this weekend. It has been about a month and a half since the last race and riding time has been minimal due to bad weather, so needless to say the boys and I are chopping at the bit to get after it. I will have to let everyone know how we do.

What a GREAT OCCRA season this was, no one got injured (knock on wood) and the bikes ran flawlessly. My youngest son Logan won the Championship in the 50cc-A class and managed a 6th place in the 65cc-B even though he didn't compete in the first four races. My son Jordan finished 2nd in the 85cc-B class. He also raced the last couple of races in the Beginner (big bike) class and never finished lower than 5th. I can not express how proud I am of my two sons for how well they did in their first ever season of racing. Oh, and I managed to win the +30 Amateur Championship myself. All in all, like the title says WHAT A GREAT SEASON!!!!! Now, to move up in class and do it again next season.

Well, it finally happened, I was able to put it all together with no bad karma, bike gremlins or what not and finish in first place. I have been waiting along time for this one. I have been so close the last couple of races only to have it snatched away by getting some barbed wire in my back wheel at one race and getting stuck in the mud hole from hell at another (check out the pic on my photos). Anyways, I am still wearing a smile a week later and can't wait until the Ada race. Until, then ride it like you stole it!

3/18/07     Well this was my first enduro. I went to Comes,Arkansas to one of Black Jack Enduro Circits better known races, The White Rock Enduro. I was a little worried about trying to do the time keeping and racing thing, but it worked out great! I finished 10th in my class and 36th overall. I was very pleased with this, plus racing for three hours straight and I wasn't all that tired. This let me know that my bike conditioning was much better. I am hopeing to do the Boars Head Enduro in Davis, Ok. Until next time, I am outa here.

2/28/07  Well it is time for the first race of the season. Like any first race it rarely goes as planed. First off my race bike wasn't finished so I broke out ol'e trusty, my 1990 ktm 250. A far cry from my new KX. Anyway practice went pretty good, still need to work on my conditioning, bike worked great considering it is seventeen years old.

Sunday started with my son Logan winning his first race of the year and my oldest boy Jordan taking 6th. I think I get more enjoyment out of watching my two sons than racing myself. Naaaa! Me on the other hand finished 8th. Not bad considering I clipped a downed bike halfway through the first lap and bent my shifter all the way back and on top of my foot peg, which was in third gear at the time, . This went on for two laps before I could get back around to have it bent out enough to shift. Oh and one good get -off (welcome to the new season LOL) while screwing with the shifter. Anyhow not what I expected but not a bad finish all things considered. Looking forward to the next one.
