Q&A - Personal
What inspires you to compete?
To be the one on top, always to be the best that I can be.
Why do you like this sport?
I like the competition and the fact that once your on the track, its you against everyone else. Its not like a team sport where someone else ruins the teams win, its your own fault if you dont win.
Describe your style...
The kid riding through camp on a 50 in a tuxedo with a sombrero.
Music?
Rock, country, metal. Not so much into the classical stuff.
Why do you compete?
To prove to myself that I can. I give it everything ive got the hour and a half to two hours that I am on the course. It annoys me to see riders give up halfway through the race. I believe that for the couple hours you are out there, push it to the limit!
Q&A - Competition
How did you get started?
My friend lived down the street when I was about 8 or 9 that rode dirtbikes and I thought it was the coolest thing. His dad asked if I wanted to try and I tried and I was hooked!
List your competitive highlights:
I'd say 2008 was my most succesful year of racing with 2 class championships, one 2nd place class finish, and more podium finishes and trophies than all 3 years past racing combined.
What are you planning for next season?
The goal is to move to B adult and AA youth in cross country. Until then, I am working for my first A class overall in the youth class.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
For the first time, last year I walked away from an event with so many trophies I had to have my friend carry some! In 2009, in the first round of the cross country series, I got first everall in the C race on my 125 out of about 230 riders. In the same event, I also got 2nd and 3rd overall in the A85 class and was immediately advanced to 250B and AA150.
