Dalton's Passion
How did you get started?
My family and I were into horses. My Mom and sister showed show horses and my Dad and I rode ranch horses - team penning and so on....My Dad's horse died, so i told him we needed to get into Dirt Bikes!!!!:) He agreed so we bougth 2 Hondas 4 stroke trail bikes. After ridding for a while we found them to slow....So we changed our bikes. My Dad bought a KTM 250 EXC and he bought me one of Blake Wharton's bikes - RM85! What a great bike!!!
List your competitive highlights
In April of last year I raced my first race in TORN. I would have liked to fininsh closer than 12th but some kid cut me off (T-boned I think) and finished 12th. But it was a great race for my first try. I love it and will make it to first one day soon.
What are you planning for next season?
I put off my racing to get in shape. I plan on getting back in the game to win this next season. I realized that you have top be in great shape to keep up with the top guys, so that's what I'm doing!!
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Finishing the race even though I was T-boned and not forgeting to focus on keeping on - one bad race doesn't mean all my races will be the same. I keep focusing on how the winners do it, just like Ryan Villopoto and the other guys that keep going after a fall.
What inspires you to compete?
The love for the sport and the competition that keeps me going!
Music?
I like all kinds of music but most of all alternative.
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
Yes i love to travel! My best road trip was when my family and i went up to Canada to pick up a horse that we bought.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
My Dad because the things that he has taught me through life so far. i want to be just like him!!!
Why do you like this sport?
The people that i meet the friend i make and gives me more time to enjoy my dad.
