Javelin Gets His Red Bull Rookie Cup Opportunity!

On August 26th, we received our reply from the Red Bull AMA Rookie Cup Organization that Javelin has been selected to try out for the series in 2009!

The selection event takes place during the weekend of October 4th - 6th, 2008. The format has a number of riders trying out on Saturday with another group trying out on Sunday. The best 50 riders from both groups will remain for a final shootout on Monday where the selection will be made.

We have already booked our plane tickets for the event which will be held at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

About Javelin Broderick

Javelin Broderick is a 12 year old novice road / dirtracer hailing from Ojai, California. He started his career in racing in 2005 on a Yamaha PW80. He quickly moved to a Kawasaki KX65 and steadily moved up in his racing results from race to race. He currently rides a ProCircuit Kawasaki KX85 with major sponsors - The Track Club, AGV Helmets and Applied Powdercoating. His results continued to climb and in late 2007, Javelin won the fall, 85cc Novice Championship at  Racetown 395 in Adelanto, CA. and followed that with a 2nd place win in the 8 race Dealer Series at the same track.

In late 2007, he began roadrace training on a Kawasaki Ninja250 riding trackdays with his father and The Track Club. With expert training from various Track Club coaches and his introduction to Jason Pridmores "Star School", Javelins lap times on the low power Ninja 250 began to drop. He currently has laptimes at Buttonwillow Raceway that are well under the qualifying pace for the AFM, 250 production class.

Early in 2008, Javelin began riding a Kawasaki KX85 powered, RS125 roadracing chassis. The goal for 2008 is to train and race the RS with hopes set on acceptance into the Red Bull Rookies Cup in October of 2008. With only 2 days of testing on the RS chassis, he holds a pace equal to the best novice times recorded at various kart tracks around Socal.

After completing his very first big track race weekend at The Streets Of Willow with the CMRRA on 08/10/08, Javelin found himself walking away with 1st place in 85cc stock novice, 85GP novice and a 6th place finish in Formula GP all accomplished on the RS chassis with a bone stock 85cc motor!

Outside of motorcycles, Javelin enjoys riding his Specialized roadracing bicycle and is also an Honor Role student going into grade 8 at Matilija Junior High in Ojai, California. From time-to-time, he also fancies himself to be a pretty good guitar player. An all-around great kid with a legitimate love of motorcycles and motorcycle racing. Javelin considers himself to be a great sportsman and very approachable on and off the track.

In 1967 Arlen bought his first motorcycle, a 1947 Knucklehead®. With a spray gun in his garage at home, Arlen customized his Harley Davidson and entering it into his first custom bike show took first prize. With nights spent working on an ever-growing list of customers' bikes, he eventually decided to quit the day job and open a store, Arlen's Motorcycle "Ness-ecities", on East 14th in San Leandro, California. At the start, Arlen would paint and build during the day and open the store at night. As his reputation grew the store opened full time and his wife, Beverly, became more involved in the day to day running.
Cory, Arlen's son, designed and built his first bike aged 15.
