Trail Work Weekend a Great Success

Well the weekend went off famously and with out incident. A total of 50 people showed up to help out and have some fun. We got a few heads who just showed up with out knowing that it was a trail work day. They where two pro racers from Canada who came down to ride but ended up resurrecting an old trail and building a nice technical drop and even cut a brand new section of trail. They had fun showing it off to us the following day. The BBQ was a blast and every one had fun even though we where all exhausted from working in the sun all day. Overall it was a great weekend. A big thank you to everyone who came out to lend a hand and get dirty. See you all real soon for opening weekend.

Mark Your Calendars

The weekend of April 19-20 will be the official Delta House Racing trail Work weekend. Just Got off the Phone with Lazlo and its all set. So come on up and have some fun and do your part to keep Plattekill the best place to ride in the east. And who knows, we might even let you design some new features. Camping will be allowed if you are coming from afar!

As we promised Beer and BBQ for everyone and Lift tickets for the following day so you can have the mountain to your selves! I sure cant wait! Its gunna be a hell of a start to the 2008 season!

Delta House Racing Trail Work Weekend at Plattekill

Delta House Racing will be sponsoring a Trail Work Weekend a Plattekill this spring. It will be a two day event. Saturday we will all work on the trails. Of course, in true Delta House fassion we will have some kegs and BBQ for everyone that helped. And now the best part... Sunday, everyone who worked on the trails will get a free lifticket. You cant buy a ticket and the mountain will only be open to the people who helped out!

Team Managers Interview

Who are you guys?

We are a group of local racers and friends who got together to form a race team. Many of us have individual sponsors but we thought if we got together and formed a team we could not only attract more sponsors but more importantly, we'd be able to better represent those sponsors on a much bigger scale.

Whats with the Name?

Delta House? well, its a long story. Our good friend and team mate, Nolan, owns an old farm house near our home mountain of Plattekill in Roxbury, RoxCiti, NY. The house is well known around town as the host of many crazy parties and outrageously good times, all goin down in the grand fashion of that famous cult classic "Animal House". You know "my advise to you is to start drinking heavily" and all that. We are that race team that people either love to party with or love to hate.

So, are you a fraternity then?

No. well.... no. Racing comes first. We are just a group of good friends who like to party like rock stars once we get off the podium. In fact we are changing that saying, its gunna be "Party like Downhill Racers"

What events do you compete in?

Lots! Mostly Downhill and thats probably what we are best at but we got guys who compete in Dual Slalom, Dirt Jumping, Cross Country ... we even got a triathlete who races Xterra. It was important to us to have a team with athletes in every aspect of competitive Mountain Biking. If its got two wheels and is in the dirt... we race it... and race it hard!

How long have you been racing as a team?

At the end of last season some of us started to write "Delta House Racing" as our Team Affiliation on our race applications however, 2008 will be our first season as an official race team and its already shaping up to be a killer season.
