A 5 year old Daniel was begging to race like his Dad and an agreement was made in the winter of 2006.  When He could ride the bicycle without training wheels he would get him a 50cc motorcycle.  Being December, Dad thought he it would be a few months before Daniel even attempted to ride his bike on his own.  To Dad's surprise, the next day he came home from work to find Daniel riding his bike inside the house on a "path" that included the living room, kitchen, and two dining areas.   Mom had pulled the training wheels up as best she could and said he had been going at it all day!  Being unprepared, it took Dad a couple months to be able to follow through with his end of the bargain with a used Honda CRF 50.
Three months later and with less than 10 hours riding time in his life, Daniel found himself gridded 3rd at his first motard race in Oklahoma City.  Daniel races on go cart tracks and the course is entirely pavement with no dirt at all. It was raining and nervous parents watched as he finished on the podium for all three races that day.  Daniel would have finished 3rd in the championship, but 3 DNS's due to lack of funding put him in 4th for his first year riding a motorcycle.
This last year, Daniel's parents moved to Oklahoma to be closer to the races and the CRF50 give way to a KTM MiniAdventure.  Daniel posted 3 race wins on his way to a solid 2nd place in the championship.  Along the way Daniel improved his lap times by at least 10 seconds at every track from the previous year!  Daniel is very laid back and doesn’t take the sport too seriously.  Although passionate about racing, his number one goal is to have fun.  This past racing season he got to meet two of his racing heroes, Tyler McDonald and Danny Eslick.  Next year Daniel will be on a KTM SMX Pro to help with the power deficiency (he races against modified 110's) and is looking to take his corner speed to his first championship!
