Creston DJ Jam Comp!!

I just got back from a wicked comp in Creston B.C. When I arrived I was stunned to see how much dirt was waiting for me and a few of my freinds to build with. We got to the destination at 8:30 Friday morning and worked till 7:30 at night with a Massive Loader and a big crew! The top soil alone was worth nearly $8000 and it was worth every penny, but i didn`t pay 1 cent for it! The Jump format was you come ripping down this big grass hill at about 25km/h then hit a pump drop about 3ft high 6 ft gap then come up to the first kicker it had a 6ft lip and was around a 15ft gap! You go sailing over that then land on a beauty of a landing which leads to a 5ft high step-up kicker good for smooth flowy 360`s and large nfcc`s or Moto whips! This gives you tons of speed for the burm then you pedel your ass off for the large booter at the end! Sorta built to what the scorpian jump was like in nwd6(Bearclaws First Jumps) This jump was flippen` LARGE! That night we got Crunked! We ended up watching FreeWilly 3 and ordering Pizza, lol It was AMAZING! The next day was competition day so everyone was PUMPED... Their was a great Vibe in the air! We went to the jumps at around 10am and competitors started to show up from everywhere. People like Kurt Sorge, Byron Grey, Joe Shwartz`s little bro.... Tons of other ripperz also! Then the lines started to get a little more interesting everyone was learning new tricks, mostly flips and 3`s. A live band played at 4:00 and then the comp started at 5:00! Everyone was at the top of the hill the turnout wasn`t bad at all around 40 competitors, and around 200-300 spectaters. We had ten minutes of practice, with one run left in practice I went down hit the first jump over rotated a 360 x-up landed flat and snapped my rear triangle on my P.3! At the same time I dislocated my thumb and tore some ligaments. Everyone thought I was out of the the comp forshure as i walked away to the arena with a broken bike. The comp started and I came in at the end of the qualifiers with my bike ducktaped together and riding it like nothing ever happened! First run cased doing a 360 because I wasn`t used to my bike yet so i didn`t finish my run because I still had 2 to come. Walked back up and waited till my next run people were laying tricks down. Every one was 1 the person before them! I saw dumped 3`s, Pendulem`s, Backflips, Superman SeatGraps, Nothings, etc. For my second run I just wanted to take it easy and have a run i could be sure to get into the finals with so I busted a 360 x-up over the first hit a 1 footed x-up over the second and I did a 450hip over the last one! But then as i was walking back up I decided hey i`ve got a sick run in mind and I wanna make this crowd know my name. So I was the last rider I came ripping down the inrun busted a MASSIVE backflip over the first one I must have been in the air for a good 5 seconds then landed both tires without a sound the the crowd went BonkerS so I was like it`s ON... Layed a 360 down on the step-up then went ripping around the burm with a huge smile on my face hit the jump busted a Unreal 720 First time EVER stuck in comp. I couldn`t hear myself think the crowd went so WILD! By the time I rode out of the tranny a whole bunch of my freinds just came running up to me and jumped on me! It was the most unbeleivable moment of my life! I got a perfect run score 25/25 but it`s to bad I didn`t stick a run in the finals I ended up in 5th place! But I got a prize for most unreal RUN! I was stoked but I was looking for a 1st place but I guess i`ll just have to bust it bigger at my next comp. aka. Crankworx on July 27th, Cya!
